Kumkat Wood (2013)

Very lean and fresh unisex perfume.

Although pleasant, I gave the negative review as I would not recommend purchasing...

The overall scent is fairly linear. There is a sweet, almost medicinal citrus note that persists through the fragrance. The woody notes are light as is the somewhat more persistent vetiver. Musk is present but Amber is not. Floral notes an afterthought. Soapy

Overall this fragrance reminds me of shampoo or body wash.

Very nice woody fragrance. Masculine. Starts off with Kumkat and Wood which makes it more interesting then the citrus vaporises -more the shame- and it curls up into a smouldering woody heart. Ideal for cold days and better than a very similar one from Ormonde. A bit too unidimensional for me. Aka ultimately boring. So close yet so far away.

Initially I thought this to be a rather boring traditional men's fragrance... After a hour or so on my skin it has transformed into a very nice mix of musk with vetiver and woody hints here and there. Nothing to get to excited about but not bad at all. Got a great deal online for a 60 ml bottle. It is worth a sniff... Enjoy!

After applying a few sprays this morning I realized (to my nose of course) that this is similar to Habit Rouge EDT by Guerlain... not a complete copy but similar.

"What a wonderful world," in my Louis Armstrong voice...O' yeah!! This is what I think about as I sniff my hand filled with the smell of Kumkat Wood.

There is this citrusy cedar mix going on that is amazing! Kumkat Wood is sweet and woody all at the same time with some vetiver also, some added white musk treatment, however not over the top. Gives off a slight powdery feel under the floral woody tones....its as if some flowers were layered over a half cut piece of wood!!!! Yum!

Mancera Kumkat Wood develops after 15 mins into a perfect citrus-cedar-vetiver combo that lasts all day, never shouts but is still present. The combo is surrounded and made complex by the added patchouli, spices, soft flowery notes and amber. It lasts all day, is inoffensive, perfect for the office and smells imo expensive. It is a safe but interesting and sophisticated fragrance nonetheless. Thumbs way up! Rating: 9/10
