Reviews of Elle L'Aime

A tropical departure from all the other Lolita Lempicka offerings. Just enough juicy lime. Jasmine and coconut combine very well here. Almost food-like. Jasmine is sweet here. Narcotic, in a good way. The myrrh takes on a different "flavor" here. It isn't deep or dark. It borders on balsamic, without buzziness. Overall, coconut is the star here.

A very good tropical fragrance of fruit, life jasmine and coconut that can go a bit soapy before disappearing into vanilla. Sillage and longevity are great! (I'm reviewing the EDP)

On me this is a really nice neroli and jasmine scent with lime making it not too flowery of a floral. I like it. It fades to a nice creamy vanilla with a hint of coconut.

Nothing new to add, as already covered this is a sunscreen perfume for the garden bars of Waikiki and Maui. Underneath, lurking beneath the sunscreen is a girly 'True Love' type scent but it's generic, so call it Charlie purse spray. It has its place in our perfumed world, why would you waste your luxury fume when sunscreen and beads of perspiration dilute and transform your fragrance; this is one that will blend in anyway as it's a bit of a mongrel in the nicest possible way. I've discovered that lavish use of the perfume obtains the best results. If you use lightly the white floral dominates but a heavy hand brings out the lime/coconut. I love the LL bottle and this is one that I will throw in with my batik/voluminous beachwear. Nice, for what it is, but not at full price, look for a bargain

Sweet, vaguely soapy, milky coconut. There's a hint of peach or mango on top and some indolic tuberose or ylang in there giving it a tropical floral feel, but it's really mostly sweet creamy coconut.

Elle L'Aime is clearly influenced by Tom Ford's Black Orchid, and it's hard to review it without a comparison. Black Orchid is a deliriously raunchy and difficult masterpiece, and Elle L'Aime is clearly trying for the same basic idea, but very much tamed down and polished to the point of dullness. It's not bad - tropical fans will likely enjoy it - but it's just too intentionally unexciting to be worthy of much beyond a neutral rating.

This is pleasant enough and follows the current trend for sweet fruity florals. Not a lot of depth or sophistication in this one. I'll take a pass on this.
