Imagine a classic business man suited up in that loose fitting slacks style that once was;he is walking on the concrete sidewalk among other business employees in broad daylight trying to get to work;holding a briefcase.Warm, fresh,spicy,clean,soapy,enveloping and seductive.
A timeless scent of triumphant masculinity.Musky like skin,clean like a hero,masculine like a man and he's alone.Over the Musk is a powdery musk with wood and amber aspects.on first blast it's both comforting and refreshing,thanks to contrast between strong animalic notes and the clean spices.then it settles into it's warm,beating heart.it's luxurious and a little bit thrilling that impression lingers through the dry down.
This is a masculine scent that's sexy on a woman.if you wear fragrance to attract woman or feel popular or fit in,go somewhere else.Musky scents needs time to appreciate how great it is.

HaylingVery sexy scent. I get sweet but soft marshmallows from this. Delicious, comforting and alluring are three adjectives I would use to describe this scent.

Kaizen1972Les Exceptions: Over the Musk EdP by Thierry Mugler has a very simple classy quality that is laid back, clean and rich in character.
The woodiness meshes well with the ambrette and black pepper. This is not an all-out animalic musk, but a restrained, "polite" type echoing oldies like Ralph Lauren's Chaps (from a masculine pov). Easily adopts a skin-scent posture upon application, a second layer can boost the sillage by a few points if that's what is desired. Otherwise, it stays comfortably close to the skin, giving calm and confidence to the wearer more so to passers-by.
The ambrette indeed has a marginally floral aspect to it that would work well for women. The musk is borderline, able to be sported by either gender. Overall, this is a scent that I'd recommend for either gender, with the caveat that this is not a beast mode scent by any means. It is a reserved, poised woody-spicy musk that seldom changes over time and maintains a soft, alluring personality.
After MANY hours and into the next day, the musk note really sticks out of its own accord, and IMO that may describe the witty description of "Over the Musk" in that it ends up being the last word spoken. It's a sexy, nicely crafted scent worth exploring by musk lovers or others alike.
