Daring fragrances

I came across this amusing comment in the forums recently:
I sympathise with this comment to an extent. Daring fragrances can alarm the senses because the brain is trying to determine if the smell is safe. The default setting in our heads seems to be “if the smell is not recognised, sound the alarms, associate it with all things dangerous”. But when you smell something dangerous with the knowledge that it is safe, then it can be a bit like a thrilling ride at a theme park.
