Can you tell me more about 'fragrance x' or 'company y'

We got lots of questions like this, and in most cases we can't help. Most of the information we have is on the site or will shortly be added to the site.

You can also ask on the Basenotes Community where you can tap into the knowledge of over 20,000 members.

I'm looking for 'fragrance X' can you help me find it?

Sadly no. With over 11,000 fragrances listed in the database, it would be impossible for us to keep track of where you can buy each one. Your best bet is to ask on the Basenotes Community or contact the manufacturer (you can find websites for many manufacturers in our Fragrance Brands section.

Can I buy 'Product X' from you?

We are an information site, we don't sell fragrances. We do however link to sites that do sell fragrances in our directory pages. We also partner with CafePress to sell t-shirts and other merchandising - BUT we do not sell fragrances ourselves.

How can I deal with troublesome users or offensive content?

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

What if I see something offensive?

You will find 'Report' links ()in many places throughout the website. These links allow you to alert the board staff to anything which you find to be offensive, objectionable or illegal.
