Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermès (2005)

This is in the Jardin (Garden) series by Hermes, meant to evoke exotic green landscapes in various locations. Here, an oasis garden by the Nile. Calamus is grassy, reedy plant. I think it is meant to suggest papyrus here -- a commodity of ancient Egypt. The lotus and frankincense notes also suggest long ago times. I like this scent. It is green and refreshing. It has a different character than most. Something about the green mango and calamus give an earthy quality to balance the water notes of lotus and grapefruit. Woody tones from the sycamore and a hint of incense. This is a subtle scent at first, but don't over-apply. Let it develop.
