  1. I just realized our emails also save our PM messages! Nonetheless I downloaded all of my PMs via TXT/CSV/EXCEL.

I just have to make the video in the next few hours.

We could always refer to too if we want to visit the old pages.
  2. Am I crazy for wanting to document the old basenotes website before it's gone?

So interesting, I've had Eau d'Hermes on my mind lately. For this one I, surprisingly prefer the current/recent version. Great to have you back! I've missed seeing your love for 'designer dreck' in action Lol. I've been on a Chanel / Hermes kick between then (when you disappeared) and now. Also perhaps inexplicably become more 'conservative' in outlook, or maybe it's just a natural progress, and soon I might be joining G*b and Parl*r and ....

    Good to see you back!

SO GOOD to hear from you! I was genuinely worried. Very happy to hear you're still kicking! (And wearing Eau d'Hermes, in any cap version.)

I'll bet your PM box was stuffed.

Haven't seen you in months, dear. I miss your haikus. You have us all worried!

You shouldn't disappear like this during a global plague. It makes us worry.

Givenchy Gentleman (New) - A Haiku For CuddleCat

by Redneck Perfumisto on 4th May 2018 at 06:59 AM

In this thread, where new moderator CuddleCat was announced, as well as my own retirement from moderation, N. CAL gave me an excuse to abuse the haiku format in ONE MORE TIME - so heck - like I'm going to pass THAT one up!

Here you go! -Red

I am inspired by CuddleCat's avatar to continue the theme of the last one!

Gifts Under The Mass Market Christmas Tree

by Redneck Perfumisto on 27th December 2016 at 09:20 PM

(Image stolen from here.)

As I sit here, next to our Christmas tree, reveling in the smell of my Christmas gift - Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Profumo - I have some very pleasant thoughts.

We were discussing, on this thread, the pricing of niche fragrances - Andy Tauer versus Dusita. Dorje123 opined that it was tough to enter the market now as a new, affordable Henry Ford, and I agree. But it got me thinking. A bit off

No Place Like Home

by Redneck Perfumisto on 30th October 2013 at 02:35 AM

I used to say this about Kansas...

It's a nice place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there.

I'm kinda feeling the same way about the new/old site. It seems a little bare-bones at first, but I think I'm going to get used to it.

Yes, it's a bit primitive. Yes, it's a bit old fashioned. Yes, it's a bit like a trip back to an earlier time.

But it's classic. REALLY classic.

And it has

Vintage His and Hers Gift Set

I was on a thread here today, when something hit me.

We were talking about how some very popular men's designer fragrances, much loved at the moment by most of the world, are completely unloved here. These fragrances are nice enough, but they just don't grab anybody's attention in the perfumista world.

I tried to think of

IFRA's Bad Luck

by Redneck Perfumisto on 26th June 2011 at 07:58 PM
Well, if IFRA would have been lucky, you would now be reading one of my most well-argued pieces ever written, in defense of their latest video.

Unfortunately, the crashing server ate it.

100% lost in cyberspace. I kid you not.

Is the universe trying to tell me something? Who knows.....

However, I intend to rally to the cause one more time. Come back later - for a link to a re-created version!
