  1. Nice of you to remember that! I am kind of zeroed in on Caron- French Can Can. It must be from the boutique in Paris, though. How finicky is that!? But I do love many of my other scents still, of course.

A new Calandre!? That's news to me. How exciting. Sounds lovely! Thanks for the note.

I was thinking about you, kumquat, after reading a recent 'signature fragrance' thread, and how you found that perfect signature fragrance, even with the vast library of fragrances that exist inside your head. Hope all is well with you and yours. It's summer here in NZ and I have powered through about 50mls of the reintroduced 'Calandre' as my most worn holiday frag.
  3. Thanks, Ken. So nice to hear from you!

    Happy birthday!
  5. Of course, I'd be happy to! Thank-you for asking Perfumed Lady!
  6. I've just realized I've never sent you a friend request! A major oversight as I have long admired your posts and blog, and was so delighted that you joined the Coty pass. Well, here it is now; would be my honor to have you accept!
  7. My dear kumquat's thanks for your birthday wishes. All the good for you and for your loved ones
  8. Thanks, Kumquat. Paul
  9. Hi, Paul, I love jasmine, too. A rich white floral. Kumquat, the note, however, doesn't have much in common with Jasmine. It is a bright, tangy citrus note- sharp and similar to an orange peel.
  10. Kumquat. Long time no chat. Can I ask you a question? I found a certain cologne I'm interested in and it has kumquat as a note according to the notes listed in Fragrantica(yes, that other sight). Question: Jasmine is one of my favorites notes in perfumery and I was wondering, "Does kumquat smell anything like jasmine?" Thank you as I'd surmise you've smelled the actual thing. Paul H.

Fancy curls of sweet flowers
beckoning to the dance.
Pink glows amid cool pastels and greens.
The conversation sparkles in tandem
with the champagne.

Daphne is the centerpiece here.
A rare scent whose mythology has
earned it an honored place in history.
Imperfect love angered the Gods and

Georgia O'Keefe, Yellow Jonquils
Penhaligon- Ostara
Earthy, meringue-like clouds of waxy notes
gleam in the golden rays.
Sleepy, their pendulous heads nod in the sun,
drinking in the recent rain.
Somber, grey clouds scuttle off, leaving the glorious
Vetiver and grasses wafting in their wake.
Narcissus was doomed to love himself beyond all reason,

Jardin D'Amalfi

Lemons blaze, hotter than the white heat on the green grass.
Sleepy, wafts of tangerine and juicy neroli, roll by.
It's time for a walk in the sunny garden.
Dreaming in the daze of warmth,
yellow striped butterflies prance with audacity.
Bold; they know they are marked as "dangerous".

Bond no.9- Chinatown
Proud, perfect plum blossom perky and prim,
glows with oriental spices;
cardomom anchors the sultry cloud
as it hovers in the trees.

Red; the color of happiness,
luck and all good life forces,
rushes forth as it fills my heart.
The rich scent is redolent;
representative of an ancient civilization

Cuir Garamante

Riding in protest yet provocative; assertive,
ever the female in control.
A woman takes the reigns donning
the smoothest, richest leather.

Daunting; the dark forest awaits.
Sultry sandalwood, labdanum, nutmeg
and saffron envelope the velvet robes in
gentle wafting
