Ferrari's newest fragrance is Vetiver Essence

Ferrari Vetiver Essence is Ferrari's newest addition to their 'Essence' line, which so far includes Essence Oud, Essence Musk, Silver Essence, Leather Essence and the most recent fragrance, Cedar Essence.

Ferrari Vetiver Essence is described as a 'warm, spicy, woody' fragrance. Perfumer Emilie Coppermann, who was present at the press launch in July, explained that the new scent is based on three notes: Haitian vetiver, an interesting coffee-cardamom combination, and a hazelwood accord.

Ferrari Vetiver Essence comes in the same bottle as the previous 'Essence' fragrances (strongly influenced by the shape of a Ferrari wing, as mentioned here) - but this time the colour is inspired by 'Grigio Silverstone' from the Ferrari GT car colour range.

Whilst we were there, we were each invited to choose our favourite Ferrari Essence at the 'What is your Essence?' Fragrance Bar, where a collection of fragrance oils were available for us to sniff. Leather Essence proved to be very popular, and I bagged a bottle of Ferrari's take on the rose-oud perfume, Essence Oud (recommended).

Ferrari Vetiver Essence contains top notes of petitgrain, grapefruit, and red pepper berries, a heart of vetiver, Italian citrus, cardamom, orris and coffee bean, on a base of hazelwood, tonka bean, patchouli and cedarwood.

Ferrari Vetiver Essence is available exclusively from Harrods at £79 for 100ml.
