New scents from Paco Rabanne: Black XS Los Angeles, Olympéa Aqua, Invictus Aqua

19th January, 2016

Paco Rabanne are launching two Black XS flankers: Black XS Los Angeles for Her and Black XS Los Angeles for Him. The Spanish perfume house are also launching Aqua versions of its Olympéa and Invictus Scents.

Black XS Los Angeles

The new Black XS LA fragrances are inspired by Rock ’n’ Roll in Los Angeles. Appropriately the duo is fronted by two musicians: Sky Ferreira and Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis (above).

Black XS Los Angeles for Her features top notes of bigarade, cranberry, coconut water and tamarind leaf; hellebore, orchid and rum make up the heart of the fragrance; and vanilla, amber and woods feature in the base notes.

Black XS Los Angeles for Him contains notes of orange and clary sage in the top; cinnamon feature in the heart; and the base contains woods and mineral notes.

The original Black XS was launched in 2005, with the feminine counterpart launching two years later. Black XS was itself a flanker for XS pour Homme launched in 1993.

Invictus Aqua and Olympéa Aqua

The company are also launching limited edition 'Aqua' versions of their Ancient Greece inspired duo, featuring marine notes and frosted glass bottles.

Olympéa Aqua contains notes of Calabrian bergamot, Aquatic notes, Petitgrain, Ginger blossom, Vanilla, Salt, Ambergris and Cashmere woods.

Invictus Aqua features notes of Pink pepper, Zuzu, Grapefruit, Violet leaf, Marine accord, Ambergris, Amber wood and Guaiac wood.

Actually sounds sort of interesting. I do not think that Los Angeles has had a namesake fragrance since Oviatt's put out Parfum des Anges in its Lalique bottle in the 1920s. Really, if we are talking rock and roll Los Angeles, we should be talking about this.

Definitely will consider a future buy when these become available.
