Calvin Klein launch Obsessed fragrance duo

03rd July, 2017

This summer, Calvin Klein are launching a new duo of fragrances that celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the brand’s Obsession fragrances, and the iconic campaign featuring Kate Moss and shot by Mario Sorrenti.

Obsessed for Women and Obsessed for Men are the first Calvin Klein fragrances overseen by the company’s new creative director, Raf Simons.

Simons, who previous has worked for Dior and Jil Sander, said of the original Obsession campaign: ”I suppose you could say we were obsessed by Obsession. If one thing summed up Calvin Klein for us visually, it was Mario Sorrenti’s Obsession campaign with Kate Moss. It lived in out heads for so many years and became a touchstone of sensuality when we arrived at Calvin Klein. We thought about a scent that could reflect such an idea of memory and desire for today. Of male and female, of the memory of someone else on your skin.”

The advertising campaign for the new fragrances features never before seen imagery from the original Obsession campaign, and the scent is said to be a celebration of Calvin Klein fragrances past, present and future.

The fragrances have been created by a team of perfumers at Firmenich.

Obsessed for Women

Annick Menardo and Honorine Blanc are behind Obsessed for Women, which features notes of Citrus, Neroli, Elemi, Violet leaf, White lavender, Purple sage, Musk helvetoilide, Ambrette and Muscenone.

Obsessed for Men

Obsessed for Men was created by Illias Ermenidis and Christophe Raynaud. Notes for the fragrance include Oro Blanco Grapefruit, Sichuan Pepper, Black Pepper, Cedar leaves, Labdanum, Blonde Leather, Patchouli Heart, Black Vanilla and Ambrox Super

Obsessed for Women is available as 100ml, 50ml and 30ml Eau de Parfum spray, and Obsessed for Men is available as 125ml, 75ml and 30ml Eau de Toilette. Both fragrances are available from July 2017.

In the UK the fragrances are initially exclusive to Boots, in the US the scent can be found at Macys.

Unfortunately now a Coty fragrance, not much to be expected. I wish the Calvin Klein fragrances would return to the glory of the 90's-early 2000's.
