I am practically basing this on my memory of it, but it is much less prominent than in 1740. Dry but not hay-ish, and adds a slightly dusty texture to the rose.

I have tried both Un Bois Vanille and Eau Duelle. Dior Addict is more interesting than the latter and a whole lot more interesting than the former.

How about Bois d'Argent or Body Kouros?

Would definitely recommend Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche, a wonderful lively fresh scent that is very interesting and smells great.

Maybe try something like Versace Pour Homme. Similar, but can't say it's of 'higher quality'.

Acqua di Profumo is different, but a great scent - would recommend that one.
