Update: I was able to connect with Sultan. My order was returned to him before making it to me, so he had to send it out again. That accounts for the long delay on my order. I am now back to being...
I sent an email last week, but no response. The earliest order I’m waiting on was placed two months ago now. Hope everything is alright.

Spirit of Dubai Meydan. Easily the most potent fragrance I’ve encountered.
Where are you finding it for purchase online? I can’t seem to find a single domestic (US) source.

Excellent stuff in either concentration. I do prefer the edc, which is an outstanding value too.
Likewise. My bottle is from the same batch/release and is loud for a long time on my skin.
Looking for full or nearly bottles
Niche Essence
Dusita Le Pavilion D’Or and Erawan
Items I have for swap:
Amouage Fate Man (Oman) 100ml 99%
Dusita Erawan 50ml 99%
Dusita Oudh Infini 50ml 99%
Dusita Issara 50ml 99%
Sultan Pasha Etude en Fougere
Jubilation XXV is a very good one. For me, I love Carved Oud by Thameen the most for sentimental reasons. On all around smell alone, I would say Mem by Bogue. Also, Etude en Fougere by Sultan Pasha...
Hendley Bourbon Extrait for me
I sold my bottle of Parfum Cologne to help fund a purchase of the Parfum. I have to admit, I enjoyed the Parfum Cologne much more.
At the moment:
1. Roja Dove Scandal
2. Ormonde Jayne Black Gold
3. Dior Leather Oud
Rounding out the top 10 at the moment for me:
Hendley Bourbon (Extrait and EDC)
Rogue Mousse Illuminee...
Got my bottle of Bon Monsieur in from Luckyscent a few days ago. I am loving it. I don’t have a lot of experience with vintage fragrances, particularly the ones mentioned by Manny in the press...
I’m coming to appreciate the greater functionality of the new layout. I hope they keep tweaking and cleaning it up a bit.
It's not an improvement imho.
I get a Chloraseptic vibe from the opening of Derviche by Rogue. Lovely scent, but I’ve chosen to sell it due to that association.
In no order:
Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan
Ormonde Jayne Elixir
Rouge Mousse Illuminee
Slumberhouse Kiste
Slumberhouse Jeke
Sultan Pasha Fougere Noire
Bogue Mem
Roja Dove Scandal
This one!
Jubilation XXV
Very interested in sampling this one. Great house.
I have owned both. I definitely noticed a difference, though slight. The newer bottle has a slight lipstick or cosmetic vibe to the peach note. Maybe a bit waxy. The juice in the flask bottle is more...
I have a similar thought whenever I see this. Dmitry and Adam use wonderful natural ingredients, but their perfumes wouldn’t be what they are without the synthetics they use. That’s not saying they...
My vote goes to Hiram Green
eBay does a terrible job protecting its sellers from dishonest and fraudulent buyers. I stopped selling on there a long time ago.
Yes, I was trying out some perfume humor.
I’ve noticed that someone always seems to give those that follow this thread a pretty quick heads up, so this is the second-best place in my experience. There was a time I used to just check his...
Follow Slumberhouse on Instagram, turn notifications on. Best way to avoid missing a drop.
I’d like to see him take on tobacco.
Also received a 2ml sample and really nice note from Dave. This stuff is really nice. Had anyone on here tried Io by Chris Rusak? They are by no means identical, but the resemblance is uncanny to my...
Definitely no fault on Hans, American Perfumer, or anyone really. And I didn’t mean to throw Brandon under the bus with my earlier post. I’m sure that brought more folks out than would otherwise have...
He went from being awkward and likable for it to being painfully arrogant (and still awkward).
Edit: Sorry, watched it again and I was wrong. It seems he had a sample from the previous batch.
Kind of bothered that Brandon dude on YouTube (Therapeutic Fragrance) got an advance sample and posted a video with the title "this will sell out in less than five minutes" three days ago. Basically...
Imagine it went on sale for $850 initially? Who on earth would buy it? It would still be available for sure. But you’re right, someone might actually pay that for something they haven’t even smelled....
Rogue Perfumery jumped to my mind as well as I read your post. Pagan by Teone Reinthal is a chypre with vintage vibes that I am really loving at the moment. She has a bunch of really amazing...
I’m fairly certain this wouldn’t effect price gouging. It would benefit a small group of Basenotes members to the further detriment of people that just want to buy perfume from a brand they like for...
Got back from a trip this afternoon and was welcomed by a package from Slumberhouse. Arrived earlier than expected. I sprayed Fjerne on and went about unpacking and getting the house in order. I...
I find NYI more versatile, better-performing, and more enjoyable than current Derby. I actually made the same decision you are contemplating recently. I didn’t find the two all that similar when I...
Sampled this earlier in the week. It’s a nice one.
Huge fan of the whole line. Love Liz’s work. Anubis is my favorite, but getting a lot of use out of Dryad this summer. Bengale Rogue is a real indulgence. Salome is so beautiful and it’s reputation...
I agree. Oud Luwak is my favorite from ALD at this point. Russian Oud is a close second.
Both are excellent. Rising Mysore is quite unique, but super easy to wear and sports a deep, long-lasting sandalwood. Emperor Hind reminds me a bit of EO1, but with a certain saltiness. It is a great...
Hmmm. Dior Leather Oud. Or Mousse Illuminee. Or maybe Mem. Kiste? I would probably drown trying to pick one of those.
It is moderate. Stays a bit close to the skin like an extrait does, but pretty good longevity. The other two were better performers on my skin, but Civet Cat Chypre was still probably my favorite. I...
I have tried three from the house. Civet Cat Chypre is wonderful. It is very powdery, but comes across rather masculine on my skin. The sandalwood shines in the dry down. Birch Tar and Russian...
I’ve tried most of the line outside of the current summer collection that just dropped. I love Prin’s work, but much prefer the releases from his other (three!) houses. Most of the strangers line has...
David Bowie - “Teenage Wildlife”
Dogfish Head Sea Quench Ale
Dusita Issara
I’ve seen you post about how much you love Baque and Jeke. Kiste would complete the unholy Slumberhouse tobacco trinity. Just sayin. I own about 100 fragrances and Kiste is the only one I have backed...
Not redundant and most excellent.
I can still add to cart and check out. What makes you think it is sold out?
You are the first person I have seen describe almost exactly what I experienced with several SPA fragrances. It tends to be the compositions with more florals, so Proust_Madeleine may be onto...
Nice! Some great reads in the background as well.
I sampled everything that I could track down from Chris over the course of the last month or so. After sampling, I ended up with bottles of Io (amazing scorched earth and incense), Bluer Skies...
Good suggestion. Hindi oud seems to be the tree you are barking up. For the price of a perfume like Oudh Infini, you could get a lot of a very good Hindi oud oil from AA that will give you what you...
Thanks for the heads up!
That was quick. Not sure when it went up, but when I noticed it a few hours ago you could still add to cart. I wonder how much he made.
L’Heure Exquise is actually back in the same formula, new batch. It is up for pre-order on Luckyscent currently.
Rolling Stones - "Dead Flowers"
Founders Mas Agave Grapefruit Imperial Gose
Chatillon Lux Weinstrasse
5,500. Holy smokes. Ok, my previous advice is retracted. It may be difficult to recommend something you haven't smelled. Perhaps the law of diminishing returns is at play.
I sometimes feel totally ambivalent to fragrance and just go without for several days. I find that I start to experience the smells of my surroundings (natural or otherwise) in a much more intense...
Funny, I almost ended that post with "Yikes." I struggle with ylang ylang, and tuberose is hit or miss for me. Those are the components in the original extraits that prevented me from loving them...
Talking Heads - "Born Under Punches"

Chatillon Lux Admiral
I dig the presentation! The snake is a nice touch.
According to the write up on Sir Winston, he added MORE tuberose to the mix to give it a floral kick. More Ylang Ylang in Musk Khabib as well.
Bortnikoff attars are up on Luckyscent: https://www.luckyscent.com/brand/804/bortnikoff. The bottles look really classy.
I agree! Chevel is a beast in more ways than one. I don't like many perfumes with dominant rose, but the animalics in Chevel are just stunning. I only have a couple of prototype samples. I am...
Same here. The ylang ylang was the dominate note for me, and it frankly makes it a tough wear for me. Ylang ylang is noticeable in Musk Cologne as well, but doesn't overpower like it does in Khabib.
I found the SM2 attar to be noticeably smoother than the extrait. The sandalwood was prominent for me in the attar, but not the extrait. I did a side-by-side comparison and much preferred the attar....
I zig-zagged quite a bit. Sultan Leather Attar was my first foray. I then purchased a bottle of EO1, the Oud Sampler, EO2, more oud, more perfume & attars, etc.
8 - Bortnikoff
5 - Chanel
5 - Ensar Oud (not counting oils/attars)
4 - Areej Le Dore
4 - Slumberhouse
3 - Rogue
3 - Stephane Humbert Lucas
3 - Hiram Green
3 - Chatillon Lux
3 - Chris Rusak
Likewise. Tuberose is hit or miss for me, but with Manny it has been all hit so for. So I will be tracking down a sample of Tuberose and Moss soon. Flora and Fauna sounds amazing. I am really, really...

Tuberose and Moss just popped up on Luckyscent for preorder

Old Nation M-43
Chris Rusak Io
It's a nice one. I am not a huge fan of the floral opening, but I love the tonka-heavy dry down.
I wear whatever smells good on my skin and suits my personality. I gravitate more towards niche and indie brands, where it is the norm to release and market perfumes as unisex. That doesn't mean that...
All three are fairly different, but all blended to absolute perfection in my opinion. I own, love, and often wear each of them.
Mysterious is spicy, resinous, and animalic (from castoreum more...
I can certainly respect this. The artistic aspect of perfumery matters to some people. Other people just want to smell good, and for cheap. To each their own. In fairness to everyone coming out...
The Dirtbombs - "Livin' for the City"
Coffee
Hermes Ambre Narguile
Good one!
Jubilation XXV for me I think. The perfect gateway drug to the type of fragrances I eventually gravitated towards in my journey.
The Gories - "Six Cold Feet"
Rum
L'Atelier Francais des Matieres Ambre Stone
Fetish is my favorite by far. Great stuff. Reckless is very nice and somewhat unique. Danger smells a little too traditional and plain on my skin to justify the price.
I own Sycamore EDP and think it is wonderful. I have not smelled anything similar that is of the same high quality. It is my second favorite vetiver after only Dior Vetiver. Some days I even prefer...
I do, sort of. I prefer SLA for the scent experience alone, but I prefer how EO1 wears on my skin.
Same here. It likely will not have an effect on the way I buy fragrances or any significant impact on the way the brands I buy from operate. That said, this is largely because most of my purchases...
+1 Thameen Carved Oud. Stripped down oud and cardamom profile. The oud is very present and natural. Mass-appealing. Solid performance. Wearable almost year round; works in all but the dead of summer...
