Who is "Raj" btw - a seller and/or splitter? I've heard the name mentioned more than several times in connection to Prin fragrances. There are several I'd still like to try. Thanks!

Although I appreciate your perspective, GoldWineMemories, I am not looking to add yet another bottle of perfume to the numerous ones I already own (collecting dust and slowly going rancid). Unlike...
Forgot to add Black Gemstone, Arso and Santalum
Hiatus almost over? They all sound quite interesting to me, especially Orm, Nadir, Ashka and Svaha. Look forward to sampling - something else to look forward to in 2021!
I did pick up IUNX L'Eau Ivre when in Paris several years ago, and added Eau Argentine, Eau Qui Pique and Eau Sento to my wish list. Will need to check out L’Arbre when I can get back. I found them...
Would like to buy some samples, but trying to avoid anything heavy, sweet or containing a lot of Ambroxan, Iso E Super or Norlimbanol. Anything I should delete here? Thanks!
Di Ser - Kagiroi...
Ha - would be nice to find out that my tastes are cheapening for a change! Will investigate norlimbanol (I think I still have that one) - would like to know who the culprit is. Any perfume that I...
Thanks for the input. Did not know Homa was a remake of Aksum - interesting. The un-scrubable sharp incense notes in Aksum is quite problematic for me. Homa feels like a horse of a very different...
Would like to check out others, but hesitant to spend a lot more on other samples. What HAS worked for me thus far: Homa, Haxan and Arsalan.
What HAS NOT: Mriga, Anatolia, Mandrava,...
Thanks for more good suggestions to check out! I know Iso-E Super is in almost everything to some degree - it's the fixative and glue for many scents' sillage and tenacity. Still charting the...
Looks like Ayala Moriel is not doing her Hinoki anymore. I used to love Greyland, but have since become sensitive to the useage of Iso E Super and Ambrox (headache inducing). Encre Noire is my go-to...
Prefer bone-dry, perhaps Asian vibe (no vanilla, rose, Ambroxin nor Iso-E Super).
a. Enjoyed CDG Hinoki, until it leaked out in a suitcase (will need to wait a while before re-purchasing)

Thanks for tip about Byredo candles - bring on the beasts! I have to admit, there's not a perfume of theirs that I ever wanted to wear, but more than curious now about their candles. You mentioned...
Hello LiverpoolFC. I ended up buying the INK refill for the lava rocks that I already had. Have to admit, am rather underwhelmed. I like their Black Afghan as a skin scent (smokey and bone dry). A...
Perhaps this is an interesting issue that deserves a topic unto itself, if one has the actual Turin quote. It did make me think. Although I certainly appreciate this position, I don't know if I agree...
Will report back after checking out those four. Not wild about shelling out $5 a sample for more, if possibly mediocre. Doesn't seem to be much interest in them here.
Montechristo - Masque Milano
Midnight Toker - Heretic Parfums
Jovoy - Ptivate Label
Oud Royal - Armani/Prive
Hindu Kush - AbdesSalaam
I'm a big fan of their incense line, which I feel goes to another level. Thought I'd sample several of their scents when I put in an order. I'd like to avoid both IsoE Super and Ambroxin, which I'm...
Count me in - what a nose!!! I started with a sample of HAXAN, and went on to sampling HOMA, ARSALAN and MRIGA. Hooked on ALL thus far (for better or for worse...). I am also am sensitive to...
I had posted this on the Male Discussion Forum without luck. Can't find much in the way of reviews (e.g.):
No. 1 Hashish by Photogenics + Co is a fragrance for women and men. No. 1 Hashish was...
Can't find much in the way of reviews for these (e.g.):

Oops - sorry, my mistake. Will blame it on the holiday 'cheer'. With the slump of perfume sales during COVID, Estee Lauder would likely be slower on their acquisitions. Burnouts/buy-outs? Wonder who...
Appreciate all the info and updates. Did not know about Kilian - kind of surprised. Interestingly, Tom Ford is not on their portfolio listing, who sounds like he was with them from the start.
Was curious. I believe that Frederic Malle, Le Labo and perhaps Tom Ford is under Estée Lauder's umbrella. Are there others? Have read some complaints about possible re-formulations after such...
Received two samples:
THE MOON AND I - As a daily consumer of green teas, I was particularly excited to check this one out. I do get tea, but it felt more like an aromatherapy experiment than a...
Nope, but sounds pretty wonderful. They often change things up over time. Maybe I am a sucker for their elegant presentation, after all...
Was just looking for an "After The Flood" sample (which I had initially found quite interesting and worth another sniff) at Twisted Lily, but no longer. Poetic and daring...too bad. I hope Holladay...
"What strikes me the most from the PG house is the quality of the blend and ingredients".
Agree! Thanks for all the input. There are more out there than I thought. Will need to hunt down another...
Would like to order some samples from the Parfumerie Generale line. It appears many complaints come from their sillage. I prefer dry skin-close scents, so this may not be an issue. Samples I likely...
Not knowing your tastes, I refer you here to start, if you haven't been:
https://www.basenotes.net/fragrancedirectory/?search=Mad+et+Len
If you like smokey, then Black Afghan is worth checking...
I'm somewhat a fan of what they're doing. Four years ago, I was on the search for the most wearable amber scent, when I stumbled upon their Ambre Decadent perfume (then recently discontinued). Yes,...
Their press:
Two globe-trotting adventurists, Sandra and Alexandre, settle down in a tiny village in the southern French Alps and begin making completely organic, vegetal candles using the flora and...
Just received a sample of Ambilux. Quite interesting. No obvious trappings that I could discover. An original 'skin' scent, for me anyway. I could see this as an everyday signature scent for anyone....
Not familiar with Sultan Pasha's scents, but almost tempted to make the splurge for his 29 attar samples, since more than several have saffron notes (only available after the new year). Not a big fan...
Looping back on this one. Wanted to check out a saffron-heavy cologne, and ordered a Xerjoff Gao sample. At first was quite thrilled, but the heaviness of the oud became too heady and tenacious on me...
It's a lovely store. I have their their Jovoy Paris Private Label fragrance (and ended up purchasing Fragrance du Bois Oud Vert Intense when visiting there a couple years ago). Unfortunately, it...
Wow, thanks for the heads up, Andy! Is that how perfume reductions normally work? Thought they might keep the smaller size higher, so people would splurge on the larger size. Will certainly wait for...
Ha - bury me in it! The earthier the better for this vetiver lover.
1. Absolute favorite: Heely's Vetiver Veritas by far (yep, STILL on the top of my wishlist)
2. I think the more affordable...
Always looking for the holy grail, like many here. Was able to sample over half so far and made sample orders for others. Since I don't like noticeable Ambroxan nor Eso E Super, my search narrows...
Anyone try any of these candles? I need a powerhouse (open space). The strongest candle I've ever experienced was the Costes signature candle.
Jonathan's Ward's Assassin Belarus sounded especially...
Ha - have answered my own question again (after smelling the candle today). It is aptly described by Scent Bar "spices and herbs that seep through to a soft, slightly fruity, smokey reveal." Sounds...
Thanks guys - this helps a lot! Will likely stop in there with my somewhat abbreviated list.
I have been using Mad et Len's “Spirituelle" on my own lava rocks in a bowl, but have run out. Wanted to change it up and curious to try their "Ink". Described at Lucky Scent:
"Nostalgic and...
After hunting around some more, I have uncovered a few. Likely there are more out there that I'm missing. Olfactory Rescue Service appears fairly extensive.

After watching and reading numerous posted reviews from Lucky Scent, I'm ending up with an overly extensive samples list! I personally don't like wearing anything heavy, overly sweet, flowery nor...
Thought I had several bookmarked, but such is not the case. I remember some were region specific. Thanks!
Will do - I like yuzu on sushi as well as the scent!
Thanks - sounds like my thing. Will check out their Cedro.
I can't always deconstruct ambergris very well, even after smelling the real thing. I believe it would likely be a synthetic ambergris (if it's there), due to its rarity and expense.
I happen to like the scent of saffron, but as yet I havn't found anyone that uses it well.
For orange I like Odin #2 Owari, though never purchased it. For grapefruit, I like Eau de Pamplemousse Rose by Hermes. Then there's aIways Bigarade Concentree and Blenheim Bouquet, too. I agree with...
Just arrived! Conditions I have from the onset:

Sniffed out Diptyque's Eau de Minthe and was fairly disappointed. More of a soapy vibe, with fresh mint sadly taking a back seat on my skin. The store's opening week had generously offered a free...
Luxe Patchouli (Comme des Gracons) I find rich, without turning powdery. May be better for winter. Also Aesop Marrakech Intense (one on my wish list) with clove. Neither too sweet.
Second: Tacit - has a nice basil note along with citrus (yuzu). Wish it lasted a little longer. Still a nice herbal green scent for the summer.
More suggestions - thanks!
Reviving this one. With summer around the corner, thought I would check out the mint suggestions. One might also try "You Or Something Like You" by Etat Libre d'Orange - interesting. I agree that...
Had found I liked the Marrakech Intense eau de toilette the most out of Aesop's scent offerings (seconded by Tacit with its basil). I'm now curious whether the parfum version of Marrakech is...
I believe most major department stores (and Luckyscent) carry Aesop products. Unfortunately, the parfum version of Marrakech appears to be only available in Aesop's own chain stores (readily...
Had found I liked the Marrakech Intense eau de toilette the most out of Aesop's scent offerings (seconded by Tacit with its basil). I'm now curious whether the parfum version of Marrakech is...
I ended up with Aesop Reverence Hand Wash (Vetiver Root, Petitgrain, Bergamot Rind) with unexpected pumice grains, which I like. Will likely opt for their Resurrection (woody, earthy, smoky) the next...
Although beautiful receptacle, I was wondering if anyone has tried the Mad et Len refill oils on/in anything else (rather than their official resin crystals or lava rocks - $40. vs $145). Just...
Thanks Cacio for suggesting their Tabacco D'Autore. I had previously purchased the Ambra Nera gel as well, but did not enjoy it as much as the original parfum version. Still good quality and the...
Recently purchased Farmacia SS Annunziata: Patchouly Indonesiano Shower Gel. One of the few shower gels that I've found that tend to stick around. Of course, one needs to be a fan of patchouly. Not...
Hadn't gotten around to a holiday gift for myself and have had my eye and nose on this item for a while. I especially like the mint note in the background. It would be functioning in a larger open...
Thanks for all the suggestions (Molton Brown, Hermes, L'Artisan, L'Occitane, Penhaligon and Le Labo). I found that Tom Dixon also has a few offerings that I'd like to check out - one of them being...
Currently running low on Compagnie de Provence Liquid Hand Soap w/ Olive Oil, Anise and Patchouli. Would like a change - prefer something strongly scented again. I read that one person had liked...
When a large conglomerate such as Estee Lauder buys up what are considered to be niche brands such as Parfums Frederic Malle, Jo Malone, By Killian, Tom Ford, Le Labo, among others, do these one-time...
Got lucky and scored a tester bottle of Ambre Decadent by Mad et Len. Metallic/smokey juxtaposition with warm the amber notes works for me! Though close to the skin, a spray or two under a shirt does...
They sure do, Buzzlepuff. Was lucky to be in Brooklyn and spied it at Twisted Lily - my hands and arms were already covered with other scents at that point, so it was too late to try (figured oil on...
Was curious to hear how the oil version compared to the original? Can't seem to find anything on it here. Thanks.
Definitely need to re-visit. Have just ordered a decant of Dior's and was kind of hoping they would be similar enough to each other. Montale will need to be next on my list - thanks Cacio.
Thanks Hednic. Interesting - will need to eventually get them side-by-side. I remember liking them both at different times, but testers do eventually dry out. Haven't been so interested in the...
Had checked out most of the suggestions and appreciated all of them on some level. I must admit, the one i was most curious about, and the most difficult to hunt down here in the US, was the Profumi...
For those that have sampled both, how would you compare Dior's Leather Oud to Montale's Aoud Cuir d'Arabie?
Thanks!
Thanks guys! As colder weather approaches, both sound worth investigating as Fall or Winter scents:

Was nearing the register to pay for for Ambra Nera Shower Gel (a great buy, btw) at Scent Bar, when I spotted Saltus by Liquides Imaginaires. Very turpentine-like at first; then mellowing to a more...
Amber has generally been a little problematic for me, but I do think the right one is out there (and worth looking for). Adding Opus VI and Amber Flash to my 'want to try' list - thanks. The...
Also will try House of Matriarch Ambre Vie (had been posted while I was responding). Thanks!
Thanks guys for the quick responses! I do like Tom Ford's Amber Absolute, but prefer a several others more. I will check out Copal Azur, Querelle, Ambra Mediterranea, Ambre Loup, Ambre Nuit, Arabian...
I'm aware of the surveys and comments on Amber scents here, with Tom Ford's Amber Absolute clearly the winner for many.
That said, I have narrowed it down to my own favorite three (not personally...
Appreciate the info, Cacio - thanks. Will also check out Le Labo's gels. Would probably go for their Santal 33, but curious about Thé Noir 29, which I haven't sampled yet.
When checking out several amber scents, I ended up leaning toward Ambra Nera by Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561. Was happy to see it was available as a shower gel as well - anyone tried it? Happen...
The experiment was definitely interesting for me, since my work schedule is too tight to make room for a pitstop at Scent Bar right now. Also like to be taken out of my comfort zone sometimes and see...

Appreciated their patience and careful selection. TL was very nice to deal with and I would order from them again.

Looks like Daze posted this a couple months ago, but I didn't see anyone responding that actually tried it.

Sure Hitman, will do. I know I had a LOT of restrictions, but always interested to see what's left after the smoke clears. It's all very subjective, so essentially there are no rights or wrongs in...
Thought it might be interesting. I was thinking Twisted Lily had a branch in San Francisco as well, when it is Tigerlily up there. Mixing the lilies. Any experience with either 'Lily', hednic?
After viewing Twisted Lilly's interesting and extensive inventory online, I thought I'd request a blind Custom Sample Pack (5) with the following conditions:
1. VERY dry; not powdery (dusty okay) ...
I spend a lot of time in a very 'scent sensitive' workplace, and often feel pressured to avoid using any colognes at all. That said, I do enjoy shower gels in the morning (as a personal olfactory...
Ambra Nera by Farmacia SS. Annunziata would've had my vote if listed.
Although personally not a big fan of Mr. Ford's fragrances in general, I would have to vote for his Amber Absolute listed here....
Also really into the smokier ones. Although Encre Noir is wonderfully dry, I don't include it in the smokey category per se. After sniffing many, I still come back to Bois d'Ascese. Dry, smokey, and...
Cire Trudon Nazareth sounds nice - especially as the holidays approach. I bought a couple of their candles on sale, and both were beautiful.
Yep, a slippery slope...

Thanks Lannister,
Nippon Kodo/ Morning Star/Cedarwood may suit the bill - and affordable too! Will certainly check it out.

Need an incense for a larger open space - prefer hinoki/sandalwood/aloeswood-oriented scents. I have treated myself to Genroku from Shoyeido, which was beautiful, but better for a smaller contained...
Thanks - was just trying to possibly weed out the heavier, sweeter, powdery or floral note oriented fragrances from my list (sometimes the descriptions on the store's website can be deceiving). The...
Appreciate all the suggestions. Looks like I can at least shuffle a few to the bottom of the deck that possibly might not work. It's a knowledgeable bunch in the store and they can probably help edit...
