Fairly sure that I'll be Synching in Comme des Garcons Black tomorrow.

Have you tried Corsica Furiosa from Parfum d'Empire ? The green notes get described as tomato leaf, though I've not tried a direct comparison with the tomato plants in my greenhouse, and it didn't...
I have recent (current) EdP and it seems fine to me. When I was considering buying LHB a couple of years back, EdP was the recommended concentration to go for.
Batch code on my bottle is 6uo1
Today I am particularly enjoying a scent whose name is as yet unknown to me; part of a current blind sample pass : it appears to combine aspects/notes/accords of many of my darker winter favourites,...
Hermes Bel Ami.
Bottle No. 1.
Projection : skin scent
Sillage : almost none (couldn't smell it at all when wafting the strip)
Longevity : vaguely, 30-60 mins, but hangs on for longer on skin. Does it get more...
Wearing Tabac Original (stick deo). This smell takes me back. My father, who always wore Old Spice, was given a small bottle of Tabac for Xmas one year by my mother, and refused to wear it. It sat in...
Tabac or Quorum for me.
Comme des Garcons Zagorsk (cold snowy landscape with forest : hinoki, violet (metallic-ish)/iris, incense; good longevity, but not massive projection)
Bottega Veneta Bottega Veneta pour Homme EdT...
Glad it's not a redundant purchase for you.
I own, love, and wear Jacomo deJ, Zagorsk and Black frequently, and find none of them redundant despite some overlaps in mood/style/notes.
I wonder...
SOTD : CdG Zagorsk - hinoki, pine, violet and iris notes make this a chilly olfactory snowscape with forests. It's been below zero all day here, and I was walking in snowy woods this afternoon; the...
Guess you could keep trying until it suggests one of your FBs.
Add to the other Hermes suggestions : Equipage. Or Equipage Geranium if you live somewhere with hot summers.
+1 Penhaligon's Sartorial
Has to be CdG Zagorsk, for me, and a most appropriate theme, given the weather here (frost and snow).
Penhaligon's Juniper Sling might also work (zingy aromatic topnotes), Bottega Veneta pH EdT...
My personal favourite is Casbah, though if you're not into incense, then it probably wouldn't appeal.
Most of my 30 FBs were sampled prior to purchase. Blind buys, which cured me of blind-buying :
Failures
Bogart Signature - hated the never-ending lemon top note so much, I returned the scent...
I've Synched in a duo of Boucheron Jaipurs : EDT for day, EDP for evening.
My first thought was Bentley for Men Intense - and then I scrolled down further and saw your sig. Equipage is a good suggestion.
L'Occitane Eau des Baux.
Unum : Io Non Ho Mani... Complex and long-lasting.
Two or more wearings :

Kyoto for meditative; Zagorsk for the hinoki note.
My choices are YSL Body Kouros, or Boucheron Jaipur pH EDT followed by the EDP for evening.
@ ifti : TF Anthracite can/could be found on the bay as samples/decants; also a surprising number of CdGs, including Black, if you search specifically.
In the Before Times, a trip to HoF would have...
Pretty sure you'll enjoy it, looking at your Wardrobe - do let us know your impressions.
Until January 6th, sticking with December's FB rotation of incense, amber, leather and spice : Avignon, Penhaligon's Elixir, Casbah, Shaal Nur, Etro Ambra, Jaipur pH, Gomma, Knize 10, Jacomo de...
Seeing as you're in Texas, how about Hermes Equipage Geranium.
I would suggest Equipage, total classic, which works all year round here in Scotland, but perhaps not for you in summer heat. EG has...
Hey, Ifti ! Good to see you enjoying JdJ. Seasonal greetings, mate !
ETA : agree with the suggestion above to try TF Noir Anthracite; it's the shiny black coal fire to JdJ's ashy peat.
Hmmm, they're pretty close, and if anything I find the opening of JdJ marginally less dry than Black. The clove (is there camphor in cloves ?) note lightens JdJ, and in a weird way recalls the...
I'd say the opening of current JdJ is not that harsh, although you do need to enjoy cloves and smoke.
I find it a very easy wear; one of my favourites.
'Colourwise' it makes me think of ashy grey...
Designer
Hermes Twilly (ginger, tuberose, sandalwood) - very suitable for a mid-20s woman. Fun and youthful. Not one of the run of the mill fruity florals.
Bottega Veneta EdP (plum, violets, suede)...
Glad to see I'm not the only one gifting myself this season : back-ups of Hermes Equipage and Bel Ami, and a belated birthday present of CdG Black.
Merry Xmas to all who Synch on Fridays.
Celebrating ComDiva's Cardamom Day, starting with
Penhaligon's L P No. 9 For Men
Top NotesBergamot, Orange,...
For ComDiva's Cardamom Day, I'll wear Penhaligon's Elixir, which fortunately/allegedly has a cardamom note - not that I've ever noticed it, I must confess.
Knize Ten. Perfect on a cold day.
Hermes Bel Ami, or Equipage
Thank you for putting the coming year's Friday Synchs together, and for keeping us right throughout the year, N.Cal.
SOTD : Penhaligon's Elixir
SOTE : CdG Black
SOTD : Penhaligon's Elixir. A favourite at this time of year.

As it is not yet the actual solstice, and the daylight hours are...
Piguet Casbah has a significant angelica topnote, for all it is an incense and spices beast.
I found Sugi to be a lemony/citrussy take on cypress. Very refreshing. Haven't sampled it for a while. Kinda medicinal feel to it, in a similar way (not same smell though) to the opening of Gucci...
Can't believe no mention of CdG Black (2013) or Sugi (2013). I enjoy their older Series/releases and would be happy rebuying; but the newer Clash and Rouge have me intrigued too.
What do you think...
Great choice for this time of year !
Jacomo de Jacomo
Tom Daxon : Iridium. Iris topnotes; woods and vetiver in the base.
re Palais Jamais
Are your summers hot like a continental climate ? I am in Scotland, where a hot summer's day is 20C, probably with a breeze, and more usually 15-16C. Might account for the...
RichMan'sOldSpice seems to have a wide range of scents, from a wide range of houses.
Looking at his Wardrobe : quite traditional, old-school, barbershop
Most bottles from one house = Creed...
Good to see so much love for the house of Etro in this thread ! Palais Jamais is one I usually wear in summer, but I will get it out of storage and try it now, in cooler weather.
How did you get on...
If hednic were to participate in next week's Synch.....
Etro Ambra on one arm and Etro Shaal Nur on the other, for the night.
Great choice (bit too cold here to join you Synching with this one)
I do miss The Sartorialist's photos of Italian outfits/fashion.
Not distinguishing between samples, decants or FBs purchased or repurchased this year; just which of those have given me most pleasure to wear in 2020
CdG Black (decant, soon to become FB)
Hermes...
I like these ideas - they would work well instead of actual places/countries/cities.
Starting the Synch with Etro Gomma : an Italian house; a scent with an air of sprezzatura.
I expect to continue this Synch all weekend.
Etro Ambra
So you weren't keen on the new Caron either ?
For me it was a skimmed milk version of Fat Electrician crossed with Habit Rouge L'Eau, Caronised..
SOTD - Robert Piguet : Casbah. Enjoying the angelica and orris over incense, producing what ClaireV described as a dry ice effect.
Ambre Sultan works so well at this time of year.
Thanks ! Cold weather scents are the best.
Seconding Rogue Jasmine Antique. I also enjoyed Flora and Fauna from the same house.
Continued to Synch in L'Heure Bleue EdP last night, and Jaipur pH EdP today.
Today has been a tour of some lesser-worn Penhaligon's. Started out with Endymion, which despite having spice notes, was overpowered by the lavender opening and rather trad barbershop, so not really...
Some old favourites in this category :
Eau des Baux (vanilla, spices)
Boucheron Jaipur pH EdP (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove)
and a few Penhaligon's
Elixir (cinnamon, mace, cardamom)
LP...
Knize Ten. Hadn't worn it for a couple of weeks. Missed it.
SOTN LADDM, over SOTD CdG Avignon. On a night-time layering incense, smoke or leather drydown with amber kick at the moment.
How about leaving it until we start a new thread for 2021 ? Happy to see this topic in GeneralFD
Comme des Garcons Avignon. Still enjoying this one.
Scents worn twice or more in November

Shaal Nur by Etro
4 wears
Hermes Equipage. Most of the house buzz is about Bel Ami (rightly esteemed)
Hiram Green Hyde. Not as unwearable as it first seems, and not so much talked about now the newness/shock of the BBQ has...
Etro Ambra, over SOTD Jacomo de Jacomo. Turned out rather well in the drydown.
December FB rotation of incense, amber, leather and spice : Avignon, Zagorsk, Penhaligon's Elixir, Casbah, Shaal Nur, Etro Ambra, Bottega Veneta, Jaipur pH, Gomma, Knize 10, Jacomo de Jacomo. From...
+1 Eau des Baux - vanilla, spices, benzoin; so cosy.
+1 current Etro Messe de Minuit, which smells of chocolate (patchouli) and orange (myrrh) to my nose - would it be Xmas witihout a Terry's...
Galbanum, costus.
Will be starting with CdG Kyoto (incense+cypress, cedar&teak) or perhaps Zagorsk (incense+hinoki), since the weather will be cold; perhaps Odin 07 Tanoke (frankincense + unspecified woods) later.
I've not yet had a Synch day, and would be honoured.
Either 'wear a scent with an incense or a heliotrope note; bonus points for a scent with both';
or 'an artemisia plant family note (artemisia,...
Finished off my sample of Bottega Veneta pH EdT, and oversprayed from the FB.
I wasn't sure of the longevity/strength of this one until I sprayed from a bottle rather than a spray sample : it's...
Depends what you mean by bug spray too.
Some insect repellents are based on natural ingredients that can smell quite pleasant : citronella, for instance.
Or in Scotland as a midge repellent, bog...
Thank you for hosting the Friday Synchs again for 2021, NCal ! Much appreciated.
A few basic thoughts :
House : Guerlain, Hermes (max chance that people can join in)
or
Nose : Thierry Wasser...
CdG Zagorsk - snow and forests, and incense.
Today, I ordered a sample of Jasmine Antique, having tried this during the sample pass earlier in the year. Surprised myself, as I would not previously have considered buying a jasmine solifore(ish)....
FWIW, Zagorsk is nothing like either Odin 07 Tanoke or Tauer's Incense Extreme, both of which I have and wear. I can't think of anything it is like, other than having that hinoki note in common with...
Continuing today with
SOTD : Yatagan
SOTE : CdG Kyoto
I hadn't noticed how relevant my November rotation was until this week.
Finishing with zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, perhaps
Synch so far
SOTM : Quorum
SOTA : Ouarzazate
Back-up of Hermes Equipage
I might stick to choosing scents that start with those letters, to restrict my choices. Or those in brackets as alternatives.
Q - Quorum (Equipage)
X - (Elixir)
Y - Yatagan (Kyoto)
Z - Zagorsk...
I could imagine it happening with some extreme olfactory memory or flashback, but maybe not linked to a scent; rather the smell of someone beloved, lost.
+1 Bottega Veneta. That was my feeling too.
Knize Ten : floral leather (jasmine etc)
Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur : Floral leather, violet
Hard to choose just three. So : Zagorsk, Ouarzazate and Sugi. If I must.
Own one, have a decant of another, and have tried the third.
Zagorsk : evokes snowy, cold forest with some incense. I find...
Equipage by a long way. It's the perfect semi-formal scent, suitable for so many occasions and wearable most of the year. I find Heritage fusty and too heavy, even the EdT.
Musing on, I can't...
Yup, it's an iris day here too : Hermes Hiris, and now Prada Infusion d'Iris EdP, and probably the IdI Parfum Absolue this evening.
CdG Kyoto
I'm heading in the direction of Moon > moonlight > cool/cold > pale > calming > Tranquility.
Getting in the mood today with CdG Kyoto, and will probably wear something with iris tomorrow : Tom Daxon...
Warm weather : Guerlain Vetiver
Cooler weather : Etro Vetiver
The opening of Juniper Sling is very aromatic and refreshing, but unfortunately the drydown is much sweeter and I find it annoying. Attempts to respray over the top to recall the delightful opening...
I have found the opening half hour of the most recent (wooden top) version to be slightly harsher and inyerface than the previous (silver top) version. Other than that, they both dry down to the same...
SOTD : Comme de Garcons Ouarzazate, followed very nicely by
SOTE : Tauer L'Air du Desert Marocain
Hermes Equipage (vtg)
Knize Ten
