The Moustache EDT is a winner.
  4. Re: Sample Pass and Testing -- Les Indémodables

No, but it did satisfy me. The ambergris gives it the character and weight I thought was missing from Escale de Haiti (even if it ends up in a similar, vetiver-dominant space).

  9. Re: Tabac Rouge.......Damn This Is Good Stuff

If you found Boclet too close to TV to your liking, you'll probably feel the same way about Tabac Rouge. But I think Tabac Rouge is the best-balanced option of the three.
  10. Re: AMAZING Tobacco Vanille clone at fragrance outlet

Vanille Persuasive reminds me a lot of the Al Haramain Amber Oud TV riff. It's kinda rough and unpolished, with a sour note in the mid that feels unintentional.
  11. Re: Tabac Rouge.......Damn This Is Good Stuff

I find Tabac Rouge much better than Tobacco Vanille. Tabac Rouge has a much richer drydown.

  25. Re: Ferrari Bright Neroli discontinued?

I believe that it was discontinued, yes.

A number of the popular "budget neroli" scents have crept up in price. I'm guessing that they didn't really catch on.
  26. Re: Clean, fresh barber sop/shaving foam vibe?

    I disagree!

Rive Gauche (even in "premium" vintage form) smells fairly synthetic and mass-market to me, and I think Or Black (post-2014 version) has a nicer, richer base. Rive Gauche smells like...

  32. Re: Ferragamo F Black ( Lavender Lovers Must ? )

I wasn't impressed by it. It's lavender-dominant, but it's a very synthetic lavender. If you're looking for a summertime fougere, you can do much better.

Poll: Re: Aquatic fougeres: your favourite?

My problem with New West is that it'd actually be more satisfying without the spoonful of calone. It's a proto-aquatic that's a bit of a noncommital fence-sitter.
  47. Re: The great "mass market" ambergris scents

Ombre Noire would've made it to discounters more substantially but it was pulled from distribution and is now being sold as an online exclusive (which is weird).

  78. Re: List and rate the tobacco frags you've worn
