BREAKING: Christian Audigier suddenly pulled from market

When I was at Macy's yesterday, I talked to one of the SAs.

She told me that Christian Audigier for Men, IMO one of the best designer releases in 2009, was pulled from shelves. All stock from all retailers of both the men's and women's fragrances, not just Macy's, had to be returned to New Wave Fragrances to be destroyed. (Must be why I didn't see it at TJ Maxx this past Tuesday after seeing it two days before.) The SA said that it was probably linked to the lawsuit between Don Ed Hardy Designs and Christian Audigier. Notably, the Ed Hardy-branded fragrances remain on the market, although I am not sure if the new fourth Ed Hardy scent will be on the market as planned.

This is sad... Not only was it a great scent (reminded me of a "lite" version of By Kilian's Straight to Heaven), but it was also one of the better sellers locally. One of my friends is a New Wave vendor rep... I will ask him.

Oh, yeah - I really wish I would have grabbed one, just so I could help out a fanboy. I was only middlin' on the juice, but I can see how some people dug it. I'm sure it will do well on eBay.

It's like one of those "dead artist" noir plots. Young artist, kinda good, but not enough for fame within life. Then - BAM. The entire body of work goes "limited edition".

had too much of an alcohol smell and did not last very long on my skin - my tjx is still packed with it.

There is a large stock of these at my TJ Maxx, both single bottles and gift sets. I was able to smell one and nearly got a headache, glad I didn't put it on my skin. Smelled like an overly synthetic and cloying tobacco/dark fruit mixture, reminded me somewhat of Escada Magnetism, slightly in smell but mostly in feel/structure.

I saw the tester at Macy's, but when I asked if they had it, the boxes had already been pulled. The SA then pulled the tester.

Still had testers and full bottles at Nordstrom here in Portland. I don't recall seeing the cylindrical bottles but others with the Ed Hardy branding were for sale.

No offense to anyone who liked it, but Christian Audigier was, I'm sorry to say, a cheap imitation of YSL L'Homme.
The bottle stood out, but the juice was very mediocre. No originality, no depth, just typical flavor (or no flavor) of the month that will be totally forgettable 5 years from now. Fragrances used to be so distinguishable from one another and weren't afraid to make a statement with their arrival. These days with all of the cheesy celebrity fragrances
and trendy brands like Ed Hardy, the packaging is the focus and the scent itself seems like an afterthought.

Seriously, each time visiting the department stores, the SA's would always throw a chrome sample and a C.Audigier sample at me.

All I can say is WOW! Saw these like crazy @ T.J Maxx & Marshalls! Well I got me a 1.7 oz for $14.99! Not bad, was it worth it? Not really.. I like the smell @ first, but then it becomes how shall we say generic! & its true! I know .97 cent Glade air freshners that last longer than this!
