From an aesthetic viewpoint, my all-time favorite bottles are the Tom Ford private blends in with the globular stoppers. Black bottles wit gold detailing are just my thing, and it just really appeals to my sense of luxury, and what luxury ought to look like.

From a practical standpoint, something that stands up, is hard to tip over, easy to hold, and has a spray nozzle. Some brands I like are pretty bad in this respect ( domino-like Lutens exports and various Comme des Garcons rolly rounded shapes ).

I also adore gold on black detailing. However, my favourite bottle design from the Tom Ford house would have to be the 50ml Private Blend. Next would be the Black Orchid, then the Private Blend decanter. I find the 100ml Private Blends hideous though. Mr. Ford should have just scaled up the 50ml or made it taller.

I love the simplicity of Lutens and Byredo. Lalique bottles are also gorgeous, my mother used to collect them. And I don't think that Guerlain should be left out.

love Guerlain bottles: Montre, mushroom, rosebud, fan, bee bottles and especially LHB and Mitsouko perfume bottles.
Chanel exclusives are a very classy modern design.

I love the classic Chanel bottles and Jean Patou Joy (vintage). I love them for their simplicity, timelessness and gravitas. I have a few vintage bottles and some still have a little bit of juice left in them. I also like the look of the new Chanel Coco Noir.

The new Agent Provocateur Petale Noir looks great, but it's not out yet, so I don't know how it actually looks or feels in the hand. I love the engraving and the shape of the bottle. I also agree with senore01. Midnight in Paris is beautiful.

I love the classic Guerlains; the bouchon coeur and bouchon quadrilobe...

Also love Vero Profumo's extraits, with their baroque bottles and contrasting geometric stoppers.

The Angel extrait bottle, striking without being frou-frou.

    And the Miss Dior extraits.

And lots of others, but these come to mind for now.

I prefer a glass bottle. Especially if it's creatively designed.

I really like the Dirty English bottle. It looks inspired by a Jack Daniels whiskey bottle, and the leather and metal bits on the cap look like something inspired by the stuff Johnny Depp had on his wrists in Pirates of the Carribean.

Not necessarily THE best, but I saw one I liked.
BTW, is resurrecting slightly older threads prohibited now?

Resurrecting historic threads isn't normally encouraged in the fragrance discussions for a variety of reasons but I think this one could stand an update

A thread in FFD about whether stereotypical 'feminine' bottles are irritating, offensive or humiliating was revived recently so this thread should be fine provided it doesn't overlap with that one!

Does someone know where is that thread with those sketches of Samsara’s bottles?
I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

I always liked the Xerjoff Blue hope and Red hoba bottles.

For the ones I have, nothing beats the parfum de marly in terms of just how it feels in hand. The heaviness and solidness of the bottles and cap just adds to the mental impression I get from the fragrances.

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci with magnificent pigeons is a unique design. Marc Lalique created a truly incredible beauty.
