    Thank you for this, benzganesh

I enjoyed Isetan at Suria and, of course, the Amouage main store near the Marriot - we don't have the Opus line in HK anymore, and all the candles were great! I found the people at Ajmal to be very patient and accommodating with my requests to smell some of the Ouds from different countries - it was a cool learning experience.

Great that you enjoyed yourself - if you want some native stuff - theres a few indian muslim apothecary run by a lineage of families in Jalan Masjid India - where you can get good oud oils etc and also their formulations of Diors and Chanels which costs only 3/4 of the price - There a shop run by a middle eastern guy near Bukit Bintang LRT station he sells resins, benzoins, pure oud oils which are of good quality - i also remember seeing oud-pieces you can burn on top of a charcoal! some frankincense as well - but i doubt youll need it i have been to hong kong twice in some malls infested by south asians i've seen similar shops!

Does the Amouage boutique in Starhill or KLCC carry the Homage / Tribute attar? I'm going to KL this thrusday and i'd love to buy if they do carry them.

Edit: i was there earlier and they only carry the tribute. No homage ( which was a pity because i wanted the homage badly )

    Update January 2013
Creeds Including Aventus,Original Vetiver,Cuir de Russie (Flacon),and most Unisex/Male Creeds like MI, Silver Mountain Water, etc now available at Ken's Apothecary situated at Bangsar Village (Level 2) as well as Empire Mall in Subang Jaya, also under Ken's Banner.

Diptyque's wonderful offering also went through a price slash for the better keeping the prices of EDT to 379.00 MYR from 450.00 for a 100ml bottle - perhaps the best time to try a diptyque.

Hi there. Does anyone know what the prices for Creed at Kens is like? I'm looking at SMW and GIT for example, and may pick up some when I go back to visit the folks next. Thanks!

Btw, are some scents not stocked just because they won't do well in warm/humid climate? I imagine the winter scents might be too power.

Hey there. Am really interested to find The Different Company in Malaysia. Where is it located at in One Utama? Is it a stand alone store or located in one of the larger departmental stores? It's been a while since this is posted so could there be a possibility it's not around anymore? Thanks!

L'artisan and the Different Company has been removed from malaysian retail, sadly. Tangs in 1U only carries Miller Harris now.

the SA told me that Luxasia decided that those 2 lines were not making a profit and decided to axe them.

    Fukken luxasia.

Been hunting lately for L'Artisan as well cause I remember seeing it in Tangs when they were still at Pavilion but they don't carry it anymore. Would really want to know what The Different Company is all about. We can always order these niche frags from websites but nothing compares to trying the fragrance physically especially on the skin to see how it goes with the body chemistry. Then the process is repeated over and over to find that frag one can relate to. The thrills of shopping for perfume.

    Thanks for the info though!

    cant blame luxasia...

its just nature of business...why bother selling if profit too cipuuut..while normal designer frag like ck bring more $ with lesser cost

we can blame them for making price in malaysia so expensive though..increase every year

Hey all, new to Basenotes, but starting to get interested, haha.

Just want to add that the Parkson in Pavilion had nearly everything I was looking for to smell samples (unfortunately, no Creed or YSL), and there was a Sephora just across the road as well. Price-wise, it appears that getting it online would be slightly cheaper than off the shelf, but as I have yet to try purchasing some online, I can't really say much on if fakes are common. Thought this might help since there appears to be a dearth of information specific to Malaysia.

If it helps, the frags I tried out today were: Acqua di Gio, Burberry Brit, TdH, A*Men, Polo Black & Polo Double Black, but I only tested Acqua di Gio and Burberry Brit on my skin (the former was probably not sprayed on enough, as the scent was barely there, and the latter smells a bit too much like cheap barbershop talcum powder for me - I'll probably give it some time before I drop a review on the main pages).

I am going to Penang. Was thinking that there might be some local shops that sell interesting stuff, especially Indian/Middle Eastern. Any suggestions? Thank you.

In Penang I recommend the Arab(?) trader S.A. Hamid Bin S. Hassan Baj at 184-86 Beach Street. He has an amazing collection of oil based fragrances, including pure oils (oud, sandelwood, etc).

Bukit Bintang is littered with Arab traders selling Attar Oil, as well as Oud Oil at affordable prices. They also sell oil-based scent replicas of popular scents (as Muslims cannot touch alcohol during prayer days, fragrant oils and attars are a subsitute to alcohol based perfumes). There are also many shops that sell Bakhoor as well as raw Oud chips, myrrh and frankincense.
