    Default Anybody love Tobacco Oud?

Dosen't get much praise, and to be honest i never wear it going out (can't think of an occasion), but I love wearing this for myself. I don't think a lot of people get it, but it smells like an awesome spice market storage room.

I think it's a very nice whisky tobacco fragrance though I don't get much oud.

Tried it, and thought it was just OK.

Nothing special, it was a pass for me.

For "awesome spice market storage room", try Eau Lente by Diptyque.

I really do love tobacco oud. But its weird because its one of those scents that I love the smell of but don't care to actually smell like it. I have quite a few samples of this lying around. And I always open them, take a whiff and really enjoy it but I don't want to smell like it. Kinda like I wish it was a candle.

I like the dry down, but the first so many hours, and especially the beginning are kinda out there and potentially offensive for sure I think.

Last year had a sample and sampled it few times but found it kinda repulsive. Revisited my sample a month ago and now it is in my shopping list... found it really good this time.

I got a decant of this a few months ago and somewhat feel the same way. I'll give it some more time.

Yes, me. Up at the top end of the PB collection IMO. That said, it's 'wearability' is limited, as others have suggested. I haven't worn it in a while & it certainly won't be coming out again before autumn now...

Same here. I really love it, but never find a good occasion to wear it. I actually have two 50ml bottles and a large decant that I probably never will empty. I keep thinking that this is going to be discontinued, so I hold on to my precious bottles.

Tobacco Oud is a fragrance that is bad in a really good way. The opening is like an expensive cigar resting in an ashtray, next to some old leather chairs in a gentlemen's club. It's sweet and dirty in a way I find hard to explain, and I love every minute of it. It's a fragrance that I only find usable in the dead of winter, but I enjoy sampling it all year.

Oud Fleur is much related to Tobacco Oud, and I find it also very interesting, but not so much that I've gotten a bottle yet. Sometimes I find it repulsive and other times intriguing. Can't seem to make up my mind on this one.

Sampled and liked it in the winter. Exactly like another comment I read, I completely agree that I like the scent, however I don't really see myself wearing it.

While having tested this too infrequently and inconclusively so far to have a definitive opinion yet, while not the absolute favorite male/unisex TF, did enjoy certain aspects of its performance and part, though not all of its notes and their development

This scent started my journey 2 years ago, which led me down the rabbit hole of Tobacco based fragrances (see wardrobe). After now acquiring a collection of some of the best tobaccos out there, I still find Tobacco Oud as a top 10 player in the collection.

Nostalgic: my grandmother who smoked and lived in an old wood dominant house. I don't think this smells at all like "cigarette", which she smoked, yet I'm taken back non the less.

The opening is my favorite phase, while i do enjoy the entire progression.

Favorite location to wear: at home
Season: Any, with a preference to a cool weather and/or Stormy nights

Awesome! And very impressive wardrobe you have, with some obvious gems.

I like Tobacco Oud a lot, I can't say love because of TF London that to me seems like the next step compared to both TO and OWI.

Owning London, would you say that it is redundant to also own TO and/or OWI because they are similar and perhaps inferior?

I have just a sample, but judged from it, it's a quality scent. You should be easy on the trigger, surely...

I'm not sure I can go as far as to use the word 'love'. I am pretty close. I like it a lot? lol
I need to wear it more to see if I can make the 'love' commitment.

They are different enough to own 2 of them, but I can imagine layering OWI and TO coming close to London. It's less rough than both but more complex.

    Which London? Tom Ford London?

Tom Ford London (cumin+saffron+woods) is a somewhat tailored version of Al Oudh which is more rugged. Tobacco Oud doesn't have any overlap with that. Oud Wood Intense to my nose is more of a woody-animalic ('animalic' relative to other western perfumes) so it shares a bit of warmth with London, but still quite different.

However, are these worth buying? I have both Tobacco Oud and London, and both have been on the sell/swap list for a while. I might try London a bit more.

There are much better stuff out there (unless you specifically really, really like these scents).

Tried it once (on the skin sadly) and to ME on my skin it smelled like the breath of someone who ate a lot of spices(disgusting), tried so hard not to scrub it off and wait for the dry down , had to scrub it one hour later it still smelled the same.

Note : I had a normal breakfast that day (eggs and bread)

Absolutely love it and I think you would be surprised at how many youtubers and instagrammers give it air time. It is by no means an under-appreciated scent.

I own and enjoy a bottle but I wear it very infrequently. It is severely lacking in versatility and my collection has overtaken it when it comes to scents enjoyed in solitude. I wear a lot of ouds and feel TF Tobacco Oud is an oud scent in name only.
