Default Anyone else jumping the gun on fall fragrances?

Yes, I like summer, but I'm getting bored of safe, summer scents. Lately I've been indulging in fall, and even winter scents. Stuff like Essence Must de Cartier Pour Homme, and Serge Lutens orientals. Anyone else out there in seasonally-inappropriate scents? Please chime in.

To others most likely as I don't choose my scents to wear according to season.

You don't have to stay with safe clean scents during the summer, try some giant white florals instead.

I dabble a little during the summer. I've worn Tobacco Vanille a couple times recently and I usually wear that more frequently when it's cooler out.

    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.

I wore Oud Sublime in the office last week but I had only one spray. That scent can break or make me!

    Nope.

I have Pure Wood on my hand this evening to give me something more to smell.
Looks like a break in the weather next week. I can only hope.

Wearing a fall/winter scent in 90° weather is the same to me as pulling on a wool sweater. I just can't do it.

With the heat wave here in DC, not really feeling like warm woods. But I've been wearing Lonesome rider this week, a leather which is actually relatively on the fresh side, almost bordering on indian ocean vetiver.

I don't subscribe the 'hot weather scent' or 'cold weather scent' strategy anymore, and often wear heavier fragrances in the Summer. Yesterday I wore Dior's Leather Oud and will probably wear Epic Man tomorrow. That may change when I wake though, lol...we'll see

To me it's disgusting when someone in hot summer wears sweet powerful fragrances, sometimes I smell people with this kind of fragrances even on the gym.
I'm stock at the moment with eternity, muggler cologne, perry ellis 360 red but I'm impatient to buy Burberry London for that rainy fall days

Don't! Maximum two sprays and once it settles, you will be beautifully rewarded

I thought about how heavy this one was, but then I thought to myself this is a company based in Oman where it's usually in the mid-40s, so it has to work. Tried it and actually liked it more in the heat than in the cold!

The only scents I absolutely won't wear in the summer are gourmands, sweet honey vanilla, cloying gourmands. This summer in the East of the USA has been miserable. Very hot and humid I am READY for fall...

    I! WANT!!! TO!!!!!

...but it's going to be a frigging hundred degrees today. Celsius. OK, not really, but still... 100 F? ...F That. Fall is my favorite time of year, but sadly, it's going to have to wait. Sigh.

Luckily, where I live, when temps rise that high, humidity plummets, so I can wear some heavier scents as long as they're DRY. Royal Oud, here I come!

OK, I might give it a go tomorrow. 32 degrees and humid as. I'll wait until after gym. Or maybe after I'll be around people
I always thought of Sequioa as a cold weather scent but was impressed by how it performed in the heat.

God, I miss the 4 seasons! Over here in the tropics, fall climate means 'air-conditioning'. 1-2 sprays of Lutens' 5 O Clock Au Gingembre works quite well for me. Burberry London for Men is another winner.

the good(?) thing is, that even though it's high summer right now, there is always a colder day here and there, so I can wear heavier scents too.

but I've just received 6 nuclear Montale samples. I'll wear Aoud Leather at noon, with the sun burning my face. baby-baby!!!

I usually work in an air conditioned environment, so I wear heavier fragrances during the summer from time to time. That said, there are a bunch that I haven't reached for since March/April, so I'll likely get back into them once it cools off.

If anything, I usually look forward to summer/warmer weather, so that I can wear some of my fresher fragrances that tend to fall flat when it's cold out.

Fragrances aside, I am looking forward to Fall in general. It's beautiful in my corner of the world, plus I can hike/bike without getting drenched in sweat after 10 minutes. It's been a hot and humid summer in the Northeast.

Yes. In fact it's been so ridiculously hot I've been spending most of my time indoors with the central air so I can wear my fall scents comfortably. Although I'm limited right now to those you see below in my sig, I've been wearing the heavier ones most; Private Label, TdH Parfum, Haitian Vetiver and Star of the Season. I hit a point like you where I get a little tired of fresh scent after fresh scent (I've been wearing them since April). I'm ready to switch over, although there are still some days I'll have to wear the fresh stuff to work. Gotta be a little more thoughtful with how I apply now too. With the lighter scents you can pretty much just spray away and you'll be fine, but once these heavier scents come in to play I generally follow my rule of 3 to 4 sprays (and in a few cases, i.e., Eau Sauvage Parfum, 2).

Nice top 10. I'm very much looking forward to wearing your #1 and #7. In fact, I was going to recommend if you're sick of wearing all those citruses and aquatics looking into Mandorlo di Sicilia, as itvworksvreally well in the heat. Now I see you have it already! You should try wearing it in the warm weather, you might be surprised by how well it works. Awesome scent.

I also dig your #2, but in my case I own Oajan. They're so similar, and great once October hIts. As far as Aoud Black Candy, that's another one I'm excited about wearing. It's an underrated scent imo, and like a classier version of Body Kouros or Lolita Lempicka.

    Good stuff!
