I’m a bit relieved that I’m not noticing anything lately. All I was smelling was Sauvage.

I smelled Reflection Men on a guy at the bar. It was horrible , i got the Le Male PTSD . I would never spend 300 dollars on a perfume that smells like Le Male

    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

Today was an interesting day —

First, heading to work, near the post boxes in my house I immediately stopped, sniffing something very well known... — LADDM. It was it, no mistaking. I have never had the impression that there is any kind of perfume nut in this house except for me. I haven‘t worn it out of my flat for ages. Interesting...

Then, on the street, something I think might‘ve been African Leather. Could have been something else, but this super juicy and three dimensional topnote is pretty unique, at least I don‘t know any other fragrance to mistake it with.

Then, at work, I realized a collegue had pretty wonderful perfume on, and asked her what it was. 24, Faubourg. Finally, I know how this one smells — very, very nice scent imo. Afterwards we talked a bit about the Hermès house style, Faubourg, Caleche and stuff. Neat.

Moschino Toy Boy coming from a SA at Decathlon. Nice! Could smell it through the mask and in the corridor in his absence. These new “Amber” notes (ambroxan and ambermax) really give perfumes great performance. Unfortunately I dislike them a lot.

When in Chicago, the distinct smell of A*Men was so strong it could cut through a mask.

Grand Soir worn by at female shopper at a local supermarket. Huge sillage and projection (even through the mask), probably recently applied as this was very early in the morning. Passed a woman in the street wearing BR 540. A woman at the office wearing Oud Wood.

What city are you in? Being in the southeastern US, I always wonder where people are who smell niche perfumes on people all the time. Around here, one doesn't smell very much quality perfume in the wild, let alone niche brands.

I'm in Oslo, Norway. There's certainly a lot of standard fare around here as well, and a lot of people (most even) don't wear any perfume, but we are lucky to have a few excellent stores that carry quite a nice selection of niche fragrances.
