    Default Jaguar Innovation - Mhmmm

Top notes of bergamot, mandarin orange & coriander
Heart notes of iris, patchouli & cedar
Base notes of leather, musk & vanilla

Just sampled this fragrance and the bergamont coriander opening floating on some dusty cedar with a patch/vanilla combo is sublime. The coriander note is the star of the show for me and it reminds me vaguely of LADDM (if it were aimed at youngsters) in its dryness here. Available for pennies as the moment and with virtually no reviews at all, the one thing I don't like is its performance as its a very soft composition that stays close to skin and sadly overspraying does not help.

Anyone else sniffed it? Also whilst you're here what are some other coriander seed gems you can recommend as I've just realized how much I enjoy this note as this composition really highlights the accord.

Jaguar Innovation is available as Eau de Cologne and as Eau de Toilette. To make things confusing, they are actually quite different. The EDC is my clear favorite, very nice and refreshing.

Aha, I'm speaking of the EDT apparently. Given the lack of power at this concentration I can only imagine how fleeting the EDC must be, but then I do like my fragrances chunky.

Thank you for the recommendation, although having to admit not being familiar with this fragrance so far-but already liking this house and being into its fragrances already, plus their affordable price and comparatively good availability, might consider this even as a blind purchase

No problem, while not high up on the priorities list among future purchases, not very low on this list nor unlikely to get bought at some point, especially if good rates on this one are or become the norm.

Hmm, sounds good! I'm a sucker for patch+cedar, and appreciate that the mandarin doesn't seem to stand out. Definitely going to try this when I get the chance.

Oh the humanity! The performance for this one is piss poor on my skin and it's usually excellent. Talking about 4 hours and that was from wearing 1ml. Sample is finished now and I do quite like it, it smells like quality, is nicely blended, different and can't be labelled offensive by any stretch of the imagination.

Here's hoping the retail bottle and reckless spraying amp the performance and raise this scent up a few notches. Looking forward to the inpressions from those that cop as overall I'm impressed.

When I hear "dryness" is a mass consumer release from 2014, I think, "likely too much iso e super for me."

  13. #13

Default Re: Jaguar Innovation - Mhmmm

I wish. A slug of ISO in this would help out on the projection front no doubt but the dryness here comes from an interplay of all the elements but especially the cedar and coriander seed. It's not an artificial bone dry vibe like normal inol but a dustiness like an old wooden shed laden with spices.

Well that sounds good to me! Too bad I can't just get a spray on paper of it, which should be good enough to decide. At $17 being the lowest price for a bottle now, I'll wait to see if it gets around $10 and then I might be tempted, unless I can get it in a swap before then. Thanks for letting us know about this one, and if you like the idea of iso e super in this sort of composition, you might want to try and sample Wild Forest.

Indeed, that's a lot of dedication and control there but remember:

    Blind buys sink wallets.

I'd reigned it in for ages but have noticed the urge to splurge creeping and crawling trying to insinuate its PayPal caning ways back into the fray. Get thee behind me Satan!

Agreed. I'd been on a designer binge, but I'm striving to reign it in. I've had lots of work stress, and that causes two binge behaviors in me: chocolate and cologne. Beats Jack Daniels and meth, though.

I've bought four scents this week and am teetering on the brink of buying this too but will stay strong. Shame as my sample has just finished and it's quite an addictive one. Like meth. Only you get to keep your own teeth.

I picked up the edt at Ross today for $15. Haven't tried it on my skin yet, but on paper I don't regret the blind buy.

As OP mentioned, the coriander is nice. I was afraid the iris might be too much for my taste as the coriander fades, but it seems to blend well. I feel like there is another floral note in there not mentioned in the pyramid. At first I thought rose, but I don't think that's it. The leather in the base reminds me of a car, fittingly. Slightly "plastic", though not artificially so. It fills a hole in my wardrobe.

This style of fragrance, to me, could become cloying if over-applied. In the same vein as TdH, but sweeter, richer. I'll try and remember to report back after a few full wears.

The bottle is nice. I like the cap.

Haven’t put together a more complete review of the EDT, but I’ve given it a couple of wears. I actually wish there was a little more iris. Lasts all day; average projection. I like it.

What actually prompted me to return to this thread is the appearance of the EDC at TJ Maxx. Another blind buy. Just sprayed a bit on paper. At first I was worried it smelled like a weaker version of the EDT, but as the top notes fade it quickly transitions into a much more airy fragrance. Airy and marine. After 30 minutes, it’s difficult to detect any of the EDT’s notes in the EDC. Actually, it’s almost difficult to detect much of anything. I fear some may find performance issues with the EDC, but only a proper full wear will tell.

Thank you, I do quite enjoy this one and for its price its quite a decent scent. Agree with its performance, quiet yet persistent so great for times when foghorns just won't do. 10 new members will get a chance to give it a spin next week as I included a sample as a freebie with the Tauer LADDM split thats currently running as the two pair so well for me.

Wearing it today thanks to your generosity. Initial impressions are extremely positive...then an hour later it’s all but gone. Barely a skin scent on me. Lovely while it lasted though and I’ll enjoy reapplying!
