But, some days, for whatever combination of reasons, I'm just really particularly enjoying a scent: more than usual.

I'm not sure if that makes sense.

For me, today, it's TF Costa Azzurra.

I love how there are notes that stay distinct and also blend to form this glorious, spicy and complex accord that reminds me of bright light on the ocean, seaweed, oud, minerals, crystal, etc.

That's all. I rarely start posts. Hope no one objects to this one. I think it's interesting how some days things really click.

I wonder if anyone else can relate to this.

I think moods affect how you enjoy a fragrance

I'm enjoying Monsieur de Givenchy today (thanks to Jack Hunter) -- and this is partly due to thinking it had been discontinued and discovering it's available at Harrods

It's great when a particular fragrance just clicks with you on a day and elevates your mood more than other days. It's been a very sunny day though cold where I am at and I've been enjoying Armani Eau Pour Homme.

Today I'm particularly enjoying Ostara, which I only ever wear for a couple of weeks at this time of the year. Yellow florals are not my style at all, but this scent tells me that spring is near. The sun is out, the daffodills are in bud, and even though it is still very cold, winter is ending at last.

Great thread, I experience the 'click' as well some days.

I chuck it up to moods, atmosphere (weather, temp humidity etc), and what others are wearing.

I have been exploring fragrance interactions and find that certain fragrances will enhance others (and vice versa). That's why it is dangerous to 'write-pff' a fragrance on the first sniff.

Anyhoo today I am enjoying Burberry Brit Summer. Spicy and wood, yet fresh and formal.

Yeah... I'm experiencing that today with Fahrenheit. For the first 8 hours or so today I was blown away by how much I was enjoying it - but - six more hours passed and I'm pretty much over it by this point. I do love Fahrenheit, but it wears like such a beast for me. 3 sprays give me HUGE projection and probably 18+ hours. And that's on a chilly spring day!

I had this happen with AdP Colonia Intensa. It was the usual (bland) citrus opening, but then turned into one of the most beautiful dry downs in recent memory. It was from a sample and I wore it 3 days in a row, I believe. Each time looking forward to the dry down and just enjoying it. I then get a full bottle and something snapped. It was just the strong citrus opening and wasn't getting the same enjoyment in the dry down.

I started thinking my bottle was bad. So, I sprayed the bottle on the back of one hand and what's left of my sample in the other. They smelled exactly the same all the way through...but no magical dry down! Still not sure what happened. Did my nose change? lol Anyway, I'm off it for a week or so and I'll try again. This is a bit troubling for me.

I love when that happens. On Monday I wore Armani Code Sport 2016 and it was really clicking, the perfect choice for that day. I enjoyed it even more than Spice and Wood, my all time favorite, which I had worn on Saturday night. And that night, S&W and I weren't getting along so great. It definitely goes both ways.

Today I'm wearing Code Sport again and while it's pleasant, it's not hitting like it was on Monday.

Silver Mountain Water. For some reason, it underwhelms me at times but I am really enjoying it today. Maybe it’s a mood thing; maybe it’s the weather. We are on the verge of spring here, and the air is both soft and crisp. In any case, I just took a stroll outside and caught the most beautiful whiffs of SMW in the air. When it’s good it’s really great!
