Default Layering on top of TF's Tuscan Leather...

    Hi guys,

Has anyone layered on top of TL with another of the private line? If so, what are some good combos?

    Thanks!

Oh, with Aventus!? Wow, that must be quite the smell!

How many sprays of each? And do you actually spray on top of each other or do you dedicate one side for each?

Venetian Bergamot works really well with Tuscan Leather.

I find it goes really well with Tobacco Vanille.

Just two blasts of each, all in different locations (i.e. not directly on top of each other).

I've thought about layer champaca Absolute with tuscan leather. Although TL is so good on its own it's almost criminal to layer

Agreed. I do layer most of my TF perfumes, but this one I would not layer. Just too perfect to do that with imo.

BTW, I am currently wearing Black Orchid with, Tobacco Oud and it is wonderful. Can you say Prince of Darkness?

Tom Ford SA told me to try Tobacco Oud over Tuscan Leather. I already owned the two so I tried it and it works great. I'll put another vote in for both TV/TL and TL/Aventus.

I haven't tried it yet but I think Dior's Leather Oud and then TF Tobacco Oud would be great

+1 Indeed it does as I found out 2 years ago. Recommended by a Tom Ford SA, no less. Unfortunately both are crazy strong stuff so half-to-a spray each for me.

Montale Black Aoud + TL is a pretty killer combo
“I have often observed that [scents] cause an alteration in me and work upon my spirits according to their several virtues; which makes me approve of what is said, that the use of incense and perfumes in churches, so ancient and so universally received in all nations and religions, was intended to cheer us, and to rouse and purify the senses, the better to fit us for contemplation” - Montaigne

Another vote for Tuscan Leather and Aventus. Something about this combination just works... and yes I am also using a 2010 batch of Aventus to layer with usually, so that might make a small difference.

As far as "layering" goes - its not layering in the LITERAL sense, as in, one *on top of* the other. Its spraying two different frags IN DIFFERENT SPOTS with the effect being a "layered" combination of scents.

I like it. It smells like a dirtier/thicker AdB. or a balanced citric leather. I'm guessing the lack of longevity on the AdB will cause the leather oud to get louder as the AdB fades.

I first thought you really layered them. I’m not sure I would consider this a layer, but you got me curious. Two of most hyped fragrances in the little fragrance world.
I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

Perhaps Noir de Noir with Tuscan Leather. Smelled this combo before.
