I certainly wouldn’t. And there’s far too many better offerings out there to look for vintages as opposed to going on a hunt for supposed “vintage” AdP!

I got Fico Di Amalfi about 3 weeks ago, my first AdP fragrance. It’s a beautiful wet and natural fig, conjures up a Mediterranean evening sojourn by the water - but I get absolutely zero longevity. The scent is gone within an hour. I’m spraying 5-8 sprays and it’s honestly gone within the hour. I’m extremely disappointed because it’s such a fabulous fig, I like it even more than Un Jardin, it’s just got an awful lifespan. I bought the 150ml thankfully but it’s looking like I’ll be finished with the bottle by the time summer is done here.

they also do a matching body lotion. i remember last year i used the shower gel, lotion and sprayed the EDT liberally and got a compliment many hours after application. there's also the vintage version (old style bottles) which is quite a bit stronger!

For me in no particular order it's Essenza / Assoluta and Club.

I've smelled both Oud and Leather quickly and passed on them but seeing them mentioned so many times i will try them again with more effort.

Tried Intensa a few times but can't stand it , Pura is good too with that salty smell.

There’s a discontinued basil fragrance from this line I very much wish I could try. I add basil essential oil when I wear scents like Colonia and I find it amazing. Basil, oregano, thyme, pepper, I wish I had the experience to create Colonia with these added ingredients.

Haha, thanks. The truth is that I've had this username on here, and on twitter for many years in fact, long before Chanel decided to make a bag and perfume called "Boy". Given my love and adoration for Chanel, I suppose it's rather fitting

I have similar issues with most of the Blu Mediterraneo line to be honest - it's part of the reason I wouldn't include any of them in my 'best' shortlist.

Could someone tell me how the original Colonia box/bottle used to look? I think I found a place that has them from 10 years ago and never sold them. Only downside is they'll probably charge close to $200 for it but if original Colonia is worth it, I'll buy it.

    Colonia Ambra
Note di Colonia III (but wait for discounters, as it's terribly overpriced)
    Colonia Intensa
    Colonia (original)

Even if not groundbreaking, the blu bottles line is nice-ish, but poor performance. If I had to choose one from it, it would be

That's what I'm trying to figure out. So far, I really do like the original Colonia's unique lemon scent but would prefer more longevity. Some reviewers say Colonia is linear (no separate top, mid, and base notes), others say its citrus top quickly dries down to a linear soap scent, while the AdP site itself says Colonia's citrus top changes to a citrus floral mid and then to a woody base. Crazy differences in descriptions! Is it the lemon, bergamot, and orange combo that gives Colonia its unique lemony citrus "signature" or is it that Colonia has a lot (or a certain type) of lemon in its top? Are there any Colonia flankers that have a citrus top very similar to Colonia but have greater longevity? What are your favorite Colonia flankers, why specifically do you prefer them, and how do your favorite flankers primarily differ from the original Colonia? As you can see, I'm trying to learn more about colognes by focusing on this particular line for now.

I don’t think you can name a just one best from a house with such a wide range. It totally depends on the mood and occasion. Do you want to feel refreshed, do you want to feel „like a boss“, etc.

I find AdP offers a lot of very good scents for different occasions and and moods.

For refreshing It’s Colonia Assoluta for me.

For when you’re in a suit and want to feel confident, then it‘s Colonia Leather (or just Leather nowadays)

And when it‘s rainy outside I always find myself drawn to Ginepro di Sardegna. I don‘t really know why

Did I see that correctly that Colonia Leather and the newer "just" Leather are two completely different fragrances? Thought it was just a re-labeling?

    Nope, same frag.

Also, Oud is the same formulation since inception as 'Colonia Intensa Oud' to 'Colonia Oud' to 'Oud'.
