The LV fragrances are really well done.
Ombre Nomade Is the best Oud fragrance I’ve smelled (that doesn’t come from real oud specialists like Ensar).
It blows away all the other high price niche ouds from the likes of Roja, MFK, etc.

Love Orage as well. When My wife and I were in Tampa recently we bought it at the boutique and had it personalized. She wears it every day and is not a fraghead like us. It takes a lot to impress her.

It is very good, but I don’t think it comes close to the Oud used in Kuwait,UAE,Sultanate Of Oman,Qatar, or H The Exclusive Black Tier.
Just my humble opinion.I guess different strokes for different folks.

Orage is lovely, but I don't think it is really that patchouli heavy. It is a very soft-wearing fragrance, though. Don't buy it expecting it to project loudly at all. Maybe get a sample or decant first.

What does Orage smell like? What are the notes?

Mainly iris, vetiver, patchouli and some citrus opening notes. The patchouli is definitely present, but I don't think of the fragrance being patchouli heavy the way a lot of other patchouli fragrances are.

Au Hassard is my favorite from the initial line. Hmm, need to pick this up, but now interested in the 3 summer releases from last year as well.

There doesn't appear to be much talk about the Louis Vuitton fragrances across the board, so I can only assume there are only a handful of people that have tried them.

I found this thread because I'm currently sampling LV's Orage and I'm really enjoying it.

After reading the thread, I have a couple of questions for those that have tried Orage. As soon as I sprayed it on, I immediately thought to myself, "I know that smell," but I couldn't place what it was. After wearing it a couple more times, I think I've pinned down the scent it reminds me of, but I haven't seen anyone else say anything about it, be it here on Basenotes or on Fragrantica.

Does Orage remind anyone of Kilian's Straight to Heaven at all? I'm pretty sure that's what it's reminding me of, although I haven't done a direct comparison on each hand. It's not exact, of course, but its main smell, as well as the way it performs, reminds me of Straight to Heaven. Lots of people think StH isn't performing very well for them when it actually is. The longevity and projection seem, at first, not to be that great, but now I'm questioning that.

For those of you that have this fragrance and can spray it normally from the bottle, how is the longevity and projection on Orage? I thought for sure when I first tried it that it was quite limited, but it may, in fact, be very good!

It's certainly very smooth and linear in its overall smell. Several of LV's scents seem to be of very good quality from my sampling.

I wore Orage yesterday for the first time in a while. I got a couple samples from the store when I bought another fragrance. I'm still not sure it's a full bottle purchase for me as I'm not a huge patchouli fan. I do like it though, and the patchouli note is perfectly muted enough for public wear. And long-lasting, 10 hours later I was still getting whiffs of it.

While I was looking for details on the new release "On the Beach", I found this interview with Cavalier about his take on scents, and while he doesn't mention Orage, he does talk about patchouli - "Heartbreak or loss smells like: Patchouli, because it has many facets. It’s kind of an olfactive tiger; something that you cannot totally dominate. You don’t know if it’s dominating you, or if you’re dominating it." "Orage" is French for "thunderstorm".
