I should have looked ahead. I wore Le Galion Vetyver today. (It’s a perfectly fine vetiver, but not at the top of my list.) So, while I’m in sample mode, my next logical choice looks like Blood Orange & Vetiver by Soivohle. That ought to be interesting.

Warmish weather means I’ll probably reach for Vettiveru or Infusion de Vetiver. I like my vetivers green rather than brown.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.

In the other hemisphere, autumn is here, so my choice will be the dark, rooty Etro Vetiver, with its licorice note. Perhaps CdG Black in the evening - dark vetiver and all sorts of other darkness.
An October rotation of vetiver, leather and forest notes: Etro Gomma and Vetiver; Hermes Equipage and Bel Ami; Caron Yatagan; Knize Ten; Jacomo Jacomo de Jacomo; Lalique Encre Noire; Gucci Guilty Absolute; CdG Black; Puig Quorum, TF Noir Anthracite.

I like vetiver quite a lot. I smelled several vetiver essential oils and liked them very much, too. I do not have any scents that are dedicated to vetiver though, but quite a bunch of them have it in bigger or lesser amounts. I do tag my bottles and samples so that I can look up various notes when I feel like to, and I do have quite a selection here:

    Fragrances tagged with 'vetiver'

    Fragrance
    Agent Provocateur (2000)
    Agent Provocateur
    Angel Muse (2016)
    Thierry Mugler
    Blue Silk (2018)
    Agent Provocateur
    Cabochard (1959)
    Grès
    Coco (1984)
    Chanel
    Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose (2011)
    Hermès
    Ginepro Nero / Black Juniper
    L'Erbolario
Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Femme (2018)
    Gucci
    Habanita (1921)
    Molinard
    Infusion d'Iris (2007)
    Prada
    Jovan Musk for Women (1972)
    Jovan
L'Heure Bleue Eau de Parfum (1912)
    Guerlain
    Le Baiser du Dragon (2003)
    Cartier
    Le Roy Soleil (1997)
    Salvador Dali
    Les Amoureux de Peynet (2017)
    Molinard
    Lolita Lempicka (1997)
    Lolita Lempicka
Narciso Eau de Parfum Rouge (2018)
    Narciso Rodriguez
    Narciso Eau de Toilette (2015)
    Narciso Rodriguez
    Narciso Rodriguez for Her (2003)
    Narciso Rodriguez
    Shalimar Eau de Parfum (1925)
    Guerlain

(I don't have the Jovan anymore though.)

The one that has the most vetiver and where vetiver shines the best is my sample of Concentree de Pamplemousse Rose, so I'll start with it tomorrow, and I still have time to decide on my evening scent with (some) vetiver. It's pretty much anything goes for me.

Happy BN day, Roberto! I can't do vetiver heavy fragrances either but I do enjoy it when it's part of the supporting notes in well blended perfumes. I'm wearing Tiare by Ormonde Jayne this morning for sync.

I’ve whittled it down to Vetiver by Guerlain or Chanel Sycomore. I love them both, but if I was faced with a desert island choice, Sycomore wins hands down. Whichever bottle looks the most photogenic when I pull out my camera at 6am?

    Happy Vetiver day!
I'm synching with Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose by Hermès - there's a short burst of grapefruit, and then it's all about beautiful slightly earthy vetiver here. Very fitting for mornings or warm days.

Syncing up with a large dose of Sycomore EDP before bed. Sycomore EDT will be spritzed in the morning late as tomorrow will be a day with no shower. Vetiver is dandy scenting that works well on my dirty body.

Have you tried Stash Prive, Teardrop?
I was wondering if it was in any way similar to the original.

    Happy Roberto Day!

I like vetiver as an accent in fragrances, and as was pointed out upthread, green rather than brown. As for vetiver ‘soliflores’, Bourbon French does one called Khus Khus that is wonderfully powdery-dry, like a dusting powder, that I enjoy. Then there’s Malle’s aptly named Vetiver Extraordinaire, and Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier’s brightly citrusy Racine. This is of course in addition to Guerlain and other vetiver stalwarts.

Today I went with Stephen Jones. Enjoy your vetiver day, dear Roberto!
