    SOTN: Rasasi Fattan

Bedtime seemed perfect for testing this much-hyped Terre d’Hermès clone. Personally, I find the opening approximation obvious but crude. The drydown will have to wait until I wake.

(Note: Just realized this isn’t really vintage. Oh, well.)

Finally getting around to this one as I've seen it mentioned a few times of late. Not sure if this is the original or the reform. Based on the box, I'm thinking original version?

I blind bought this from an overseas seller a few weeks ago but still haven't received it. The notes and reviews sound good - I hope it's a winner for me.

    Homme de Gres

For some reason my first sampling didn't go all that well, but I'm enjoying it very much today. Interesting leathery-salty/mineral-woods base. I wonder what that mineral layer is? I like it.

It's salty-sour, maybe like a preserved lemon. It also reminds me of when you spread magnesium chloride ice melt in winter, and a little bit of the dust from it flies in the air, and you can just barely taste/smell it.

This stuff is a cousin to Capucci pour Homme (1967). The big key difference is the twist of lavender in the Grès.

Memo - Siwa (from a sample)

Whiskey-flavored candy and a funeral parlor bouquet. Not meant as a compliment.

Dries down to a generic amber: less annoying, but less distinctive.

Not getting the high marks for this one in the BN directory at all.

Original I think. Do you like it? I really enjoy it.
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.

Smelled ok on paper but once it went on skin it was a disaster - A thumbs down.
