    Default Future of Amouage

    Hi all,

Just to share some exciting information with everyone. I rarely if ever post but I do have some close connections with some people who work with this brand and decided to let everyone know.

I know when someone posts information that cannot be evidenced yet it should be taken with a pinch of salt which is fine but I am very excited about this so decided to let everyone know and hopefully we can all look forward to these future releases.

Two small expected bits of news:
Overture Woman will be released in April/May in Harrods. This is the last perfume over seen by Christopher Chong.
A new Amouage Duo due in September/October. These will be named 'Renaissance'.

Something I am very excited about but is out of left field for Amouage (but may be in relation to Christopher Chong's departure) is an Interlude flanker due out June/July. Composed by Pierre Negrin. This will be named 'Interlude Iris'.

Certainly exciting things happening which I'm sure Amouage are hoping will retain the brand loyalty after Christopher's departure but reserving judgement until the juice has been released.

Let's see what happens......'Renaissance' sounds modern as well as old school to me at the same time.
'Interlude Iris': really wondering what this would smell like; I just hope the iris is not too strong. Maybe it replaces the oregano note?!

I really do hope that Amouage up their game. Over the years they have made some outstanding fragrances. Possibly some of the best ever!! But over the past 3 or 4 years I have been left a bit disappointed.

Honestly but also personally/subjectively speaking was quite surprised about Bracken, in fact this one left a much better impression than first expected and would most likely enjoy if they continued developing in a similar direction (i. e. especially modern, contemporary takes on traditional niche themes and styles)

wait.... is Christopher Chong's departure a good thing or a bad thing? i'm not up on Amouage.

I don't think my original post was all that clear regarding that - my bad. For me, Amouage under Christopher's watch produced some of my favourite scents in my collection and more recently some that were very unexpected (beach hut and bracken I'm looking at you). Then again not everything they have put out is successful or good. I certainly don't think it's a positive thing he left. He'd been with Amouage so long it's difficult to tell yet if Christopher's departure means Amouage will be better, worse or be kinda the same. Time will tell. I don't think Christopher would have put out an Interlude flanker - but I can't say im not super excited to try it and I'm glad they are

    Benjamin, thank you for sharing!

I own and treasure Memoir, Epic, Gold, Dia, Lyric Woman and soon Jubilation. And haven't tested them all yet.
So any report about a new Amouage release it's an excellent news for me.
    It's my favorite house.

I don't really like Journey, Fate, Lyric Man, Portrayal, Figment and Myth.
And I like Bracken, Interlude, Imitation, Reflection, but not enough to buy the full bottle. I have to try them again, maybe something changes over time.

By the way, do you get a slightly petrol vibe from Imitation? Only one person from the Fragrantica seems to detect that petrol vibe like me.
It's a bit dissonant, in disaccord to the smoothness of the fragrance. I can't get over it.

I can certainly see what you mean regarding the petrol vibe in Imitation. Although I think not may of us would say Imitation was all that difficult to understand in terms of scent profile compared with say Fate, to me Imitation is the one I took the longest to understand and unpack. It's like a gift that keeps on giving.

Have you tried Imitation Woman? It may be even better as a scent although I don't feel as complex.

I notice Interlude was missing from your lists. have you tried that one?

It seems as through they've had too many releases in the past few years, most of them "meh", and now I don't really put any effort in following their line anymore.

Their originals are great but the last bunch have been garbage IMO so I’m not holding out much hope for any new releases

Thank you for sharing! They’ve come out with a lot that doesn’t excite me lately but I always hold out hope since they were one of the first houses I absolutely fell in love with in the beginning of my fragrance journey. Currently waiting on two bottles from them.

    Hi all,
My name is Renaud. 6 months ago, I left New York and moved to Muscat to embark on such a special journey with Amouage.
Oman is an amazing country and the Amouage perfume factory is probably the dream place of a lot of perfume enthusiasts. People are skilled and highly positive.
It's an honour to be given the chance to continue the story... Together with the perfumers and everyone working on the brand, we have been quite busy and things are getting real: we have a new fragrance currently in maturation. Now, things have slowed down given the context and I thought that I would finally comment on this tread. This might be a good time to talk about the future or answer broader Amouage-related questions. Let me know?

Hello - no this will not be an exclusive. It will be globally available as of launch, more or less everywhere at the same time (there is usually a few weeks of difference depending on the countries). The final timing will depend on how the global situation evolves, something we cannot control... But hopefully around July.

The new release is a creation by Pierre Negrin. I should be able to share more soon but part of the inspiration was an oil painting by Georgia O’Keeffe named Black Iris. Georgia used a refined palette of colours to create a flower with details that would stop busy New Yorkers in their everyday life - an Interlude. Pierre worked the new fragrance as an overpainting of his original Interlude Man fragrance. In the big lines, to get an olfactive idea of the new creation, you need to imagine Interlude Man in which the oregano and rosemary notes have been smoothened and part of the vanillic sweetness has been replaced by the buttery creaminess of the iris. Also, the overall woodiness comes out faster in the composition.

Regarding a new Opus fragrance, there is currently no release date.
