I find some ads actually undermine the actual fragrance, especially if it is indeed a fantastic fragrance due to some lame marketing idea that is trying to be trendy or hip, but often comes across as tacky, cheesy or just douchey in some cases.

Even ads that have celebrities do a poor job of convincing you that they actually wear this fragrance. It comes across more like they are only there because they got paid. They don't even sell the illusion as actors like they do for other products.
Well, imo the horse did play an excellent role in Voyage D’Hermès’ commercial. Not even a ship can glide over the water with such a resourcefulness as he.
I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

This one obviously hasn't aged well, given he is now a convicted murderer, but these ads really jumped out to me at the time.

I think the more futuristic, less murdery version is great too:

I'm not sure I'd say it's my favorite, but it certainly seemed like the height of designer ego when Yves Saint Laurent posed naked for the ad campaign in France at the launch of YSL Pour Homme in 1971. We didn't get the ad in the USA, but I remember people passing around copies of French magazines just to marvel at the audacity of it.
