    Claire V - Happy Birthday!

I am having a slow, lazy start to the morning.
I over-exerted myself in the garden yesterday cutting
out old raspberry canes and tying in the new ones.
That was after cooking a hugh vegetararian brunch for
the family followed by a long walk.

I am going to wear The Sancturary Classic later on.

Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Sunday, 2nd August, 2020

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Happy birthday, kbe and ClaireV! Have a perfectly smelly year!

I'm fresh out of shower with a dose of ginger scented lotion and Molinard's Les Amoureux de Peynet (which also has some ginger, so they fit together). I'm making myself a second cup of coffee and will be ready to face the day after it. It's sunny and warm, the weather seems good for a walk or a bike ride. A local beer bar is also hosting a Spanish weekend with fresh made sangria and churros, I'm tempted to go there, too.

As compensation for those mourning their annual trek to Benidorn, no doubt. I didn't realize they had churros in Spain, always thought they were only Mexican.

The approaching Tropical Storm Isaias has sucked some of the humidity out of the air here, so I think I can safely wear an actual perfume rather than just an eau. Still keepin' it green though, with No. 19. This 1978 ad has always been one of my favorites.

    ClaireV, wherefore art thee?

    Congrats on the 1,000x, 24F.

That is a cool ad, C. It almost functions as a video.

Just finished my last weed-athalon for a while -- the weed mound is now equal to two VBUs (Volkswagen Beetle units) -- and a cooling shower has restored my wilted flesh. I've turned to my August go-to: Dasein Winter, so fresh and green.

Thanks again, ExtremeK, for the podcast recommendation. I listed to 2-1/2 episodes after exhausting Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and the cooking show Milk Street. The Constant is similar to Stuff to Blow Your Mind.
I get by with a little help from my (((friends))).

    Heart Notes
Accord pyrogene of fireworks and burnt matches

    Base notes
Black acetate accord, Red wood, Animalic musks

Sounds like a house to watch.

    Hello, and best to all,

I hope hednic is okay. It is strange, to scroll through the SOTD forum, and not see his avatar first.

We are watching the SpaceX/NASA live splashdown, and I am wearing Chanel No. 19 edt to combat a very hot day. I thought we might never see something like this in our lifetimes, and I had some tears in my eyes, watching the last minute or two. So glad the guys are safely back—
Edit: every time the TV announcers say “Bob and Doug,” I think of SCTV, and the Mackenzie brothers.

Back in the day, before the Robot, various Basenotes members initiated the first SOTD post. Now that the Robot opens the thread at a consistent time, it's easier for a single member to always be the first to post.

@SunnyFunny, maybe they should just call it S'Mores.

Our tango teachers do a Zoom session on Sundays. My partner, depending on what we are learning is either an ironing board or a broom! Of course I scented up, today in Bandit. I am so out of shape for dancing. I walk and bike a lot, but the disciplines of placement and balance , well, these I need to recover. Glad for the Zoom class, yet it makes me sad for all the things each of us does without.
What do insomniac perfumers do to fall asleep? They count chypres!
