Thread: Defective box?

    Default Defective box?

    image.jpg

Soo... this bottle seems authentic to me... smells the same. It’s the only bottle I didn’t get from Macy’s other then that counterfeit from fragranceNet. I got it from a third party at Walmart for 40 instead of 67....

Anyway I noticed I can scratch off the letting, logo, and gold trimmings on the box. Does this happen sometimes? I was able to scrap off the back just lightly using my fingernail. I can still feel the letters even when the ink comes off the box.

It has been known to happen. Wouldn't worry about it. It's what's inside that matters.

Do you have any of your other boxes for comparison? It seems odd that the gold would be so fragile, but there could be all sorts of legitimate reasons for that. If the perfume smells like it ought to, just enjoy it.

Was the box sealed/wrapped? Seems odd it would be deteriorating like that. My only guess, assuming it's a legit sale, maybe it's been stored in extreme conditions.

Yeah after posting this I sprayed a Macy’s bottle on paper and this... the Macy’s bottle lasts longer... perhaps it’s been watered down.... it doesn’t smell weird at all. It smells just like what I’m used to. It doesn’t last long. Went to sleep spraying 3 times on each arm, one arm from the other bottle. I could smell the Macy’s bottle on my one arm, nothing on the other arm.

I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

Bought it from third party seller on walmart.com. They both say January 2020.

I'm assuming your other box doesn't peel like that either? Or do you still have the other box?

EDIT: I see in your other post that you do have both boxes. I'm assuming no peeling on the older one?

I wonder if there was a reformulation of a watering down that caused the scent to lose longevity.

Seems to be real. No obvious signs of a fake fragrance. I wouldn't worry about it.

If it's me, I'd return it and buy from a more reputable source.

Oh it’s a fake, I compared the Medusa heads from the 3rd party seller and Macy’s. The detail on the Macy’s bottle is more detailed. Strange it smells just like what I’m used to but doesn’t last as long. I scratched old boxes and text doesn’t come off.

Possibly/probably the real thing, diluted; but then, why the fake box? They could have just sent it in the original box, unless they were rebottling diluted juice from a larger bottle into smaller fake ones. I don't know much about the methods counterfeiters use, so I'm sure I'm missing something - but the fact that it smells like the real thing, yet is very weak, suggests something along those lines.
