Default most challenging fragrance you want to like but (so far anyway) just can't

    for me,

I just can't yet like this, although I want to.

Sweeties are the most challenging to me, I tried my best to enjoy Tuscan Leather, Godolphin and CoSTUME NATIONAL Soul but never felt comfortable in them. For me sweeties are just not me, wearing them feels like lying to myself even when I don't hate the scent.

Siberian Summer. Whenever I wear it all I smell is musky urine and lime. I want to love this but everytime I even smell the cap I think to myself “no fucking way bro do NOT wear that outside”.

Anything with tuberose as a note in prominence I find challenging, some more so than others.

So much love and popularity here for Kouros but I have yet to come around. I've sampled three times and it's just floral soapiness to my nose.

I have lost count of the occasions when I have tested Yatagan but I still find it repulsive

For me it smells like a cross between a kitchen cleaner product and a stick of celery that has gone off.

Dior Sauvage. I still have the bottle I purchased the week it was released. Sprayed some on at Macys thought it was pretty good didn't wait for the dry down and bought it. I wasn't ten minutes down the road from the store and I was searching for extra napkins in my lunch box and bottled water trying to get it off of me. Been trying to like it for the last five years. No luck.

Maybe too many to mention-among others there are at least certain vintages like an early to mid 2000s Etienne Aigner cannot remember currently (the smell yes, the proper and complete naming not so much) did try hard to find reasons for enjoying.
Yet nevertheless, though complex (since incidentally not lacking complexity) never managed to fully like its inky smell-almost the seam kind of smell did find much much less offensive and much more enjoyable as well as interesting in the Lalique range of Encre Noire.

Layton & Aventus, neither of these are bad fragrances, I just feel they’re not for me.

I had sky-high hopes for both, perhaps that’s why I’m disappointed.

Honestly, while it's not necessarily challenging, I'm still struggling with Nicolai New York Intense. Perhaps, it's the weather though I know some wear it in the summer. I simply can't figure it out yet. Experience has taught that some frags take time. I disliked some of my current favorites for some time before finally - for lack of better words - clicking with them.

Heavy and Aromachemical Tuberose proves scrub off quickly response. Touches of natural in perfumes is OK.

Bandit is a very hard wear for me.

Lonestar Memories can have me horrifically halucinating.

Yep, both of those plus Dior Oud Ispahan I've tried & tried & tried. No can do.

There's also many modern niche scents I've given up on too: all of Areej Le Dore, and all of Vero Kern's scents. Wanted badly to like them, but couldn't.

Vintage Sables - everyone says it smells like maple syrup. That would be sexy as hell except it doesn't smell anything like maple syrup. Every time it's like "what am I smelling here?"..... speaking of, I think I am at least two months overdue on my most recent wearing.....

Any classic Chypre scent gets my nose all worked up for some reason.Does not sit well with me at all but can sometimes appreciate it on others for some reason!

5 YEARS??? Have you not heard of Ebay dude or maybe just gifting it to some family member instead?

Kouros. Got several bottles, plus flankers.
Yatagan. Love it, as does the girlfriend.
Bandit. Love it. Girlfriend identified it straight away as a women's perfume.
Habanita. Love it. Would be too vanilla for my woman. She mocks me when I wear DHI (usually identified as a women's perfume) and such.

As for challenging, maybe A*Men. Just because I bought and sold it twice. Done with it now and generally dislike that sticky sweet Mugler style. If someone walks in the room in a cloud of Angel or A*Men, eye-rolling and tutting ensues.

100% agree with this. Smells the same to me but i just can’t wear it outside. Man I wish I could though. Maybe it’s too hot where I live.

Anything with oud. Oud just doesn't sit well on my skin to me for whatever reason, even if I do enjoy the fragrance on paper...
    Loves:
Florals (especially rose, tuberose, cherry blossom, orange blossom, osmanthus, ylang ylang, immortelle, violet, jasmine, plum blossom, heliotrope, and iris)
Orientals (especially spicy, woody, and floral orientals)
    Boozy notes
    Chypres (especially with real oakmoss)
    Rich gourmands
    Animalic fragrances
    Great longevity and sillage

Layton Exclusif. I want to like it. I need to like it. But I can’t. My first high-end fragrance buy at full retail (silly me) and it’s been sitting there ever since

Anything Jacques Bogart. Man, I tried.

Furyo is like some kind of prank on me. It gets love from people who can't see that the emperor wears no clothes. It's piss and flowers. How is that enjoyable? It's like something you would wear to pick up homeless women at a funeral parlor. This thing should not exist, and yet it does.

One Man Show is okay, but there are way too many better ones to waste time wearing that one.

Witness has a nightmarish opening, but it dries down to something interesting...after several hours!

I tried Jacques. Please forgive me.

Cuir by Mona di Orio due to its late drydown. Molinrad's Tubereuse Vertigineuse, which turns violent on my skin. Nº3 by Andy Tauer.

Not challenging, but discusting, amateurish and openly uninspired, most part of the Ensar Oud Pure Parfums and EDPs. I don't like either Maai, New York Intense and Chypre Palatin, althought their blends are masterful and I keep trying.

Recently both Devin and Must de Cartier.
Bit repulsive eeek! Too dirty in a salivic way.
Also, tried to get in on the Luna Rossa Carbon, L'Insoumis type of genre of frags, doesn't work on my nose, just getting rotting sweating melon. eeew.
