For the overwhelming majority of bottles, yes.

Between Covid and retirement I don't get out much. But when I do, I smell real good.

I see no problem with that.

Incidentally having stored bottles like this in the past (although only minimally few among the ones used and owned) never had problems affecting the quality of the fragrance contained nor even the outer appearance of the bottle-therefore would not be worried if bottles are stored like this rather than in a different way

I keep mine sideways in drawers. I would say I've noticed no issues in four years.

Yes, but clearly there were some loose ends.

It's fine, unless it's a particularly badly made bottle like a Tauer.

If you have a choice, I wouldn't store them sideways. Angled perhaps, but I don't like the juice touching the sprayer area as much as possible. Probably fine short term, but I wouldn't risk it long term.

Glad to see that I wasn't going crazy when I read two threads about the same (relatively) strange topic.

I put mine in an angle of 51,8 degrees, the angle of the Egyptian pyramids. This angle is special cause it captures a cosmic energy that stays concentrated inside the object. That’s why the pyramids are in there lasting for so long.
I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

Can we open up voting for the weakest troll of the year awards already?
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

We have to hold out until December. But I'm sure we all know who would win the primaries.

Okay...this is going to be an embarassing post. I must now retract my previous comment that I've never had a problem laying bottles on the side. I just had a major leak.

I've been collecting now for 4 years and keeping my bottles on their side in drawers this whole time. Never noticed any issue until two days ago. All of a sudden out wafted a strong (and delightful) fragrance. I line the drawers with thin bubble wrap to cushion everything, and noticed the bubble wrap was damp in one area. I picked up my bottle of Blackmusk from Mad et Len that was right in that area and sure enough, the screwtop had somehow gotten loose. I have no idea how that could have happened because I haven't even used it in several months. I rearranged the bottles about a month ago so it's possible it happened then, but I certainly didn't twist it intentionally. I lost about 90% of the juice, and it's one of my favorites. This is the style bottle:

So with this disaster, I'm now going to have to start storing a large number of bottles in my office and reduce the number in my bathroom. I'll remove half the drawers so there is enough room to stand them upright instead of on their side. I don't want a leak again. Tough lesson learned. I guess better to lose one bottle than multiples at least. They are so much easier to view on their side too. Bleh. The only positive is that my bathroom smells great now.

Well I guess this experience firmly answers the thread question, lol. Sorry to hear that, man.
I always kind of worried about this issue, when pondering the idea of storing on their sides.

I, personally, would only store fragrances upright. When traveling with a suitcase, I carefully check nozzles and caps for tightness and then double bag them in zip lock bags.
