Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. I woke up at 4:30 am with a start. I ate dinner too late last night, even though it was light, and it disrupted my sleep. Lady Shalimar to the rescue (route Mexique). Off to bed again, for now.

Thank you, everyone, and especially N.Cal for sorting out that this is my happy 15th today.

Sunny, when I saw that pic with your dad on his land, I longed to step into the picture even more than when I see photos of BN meet-ups! I miss men like him in my sphere. Some day, when I'm on the desktop, I should share a fave photo of my dad and two of his brothers. I think you'll relate.

ExtremeK, I'm not bothered by a lack of Covid testing for me. I feel more concern for others in need. Also, I've got a theory that this surgery is a wild goose chase. We'll see after tomorrow. For now, I'll just say the basis for my theory is: "My strength is my weakness, and my weakness is my strength." There's a cliffhanger for all of ya.

Thanks to my Palabre app newsfeed displaying new BN threads, I learned of the sale of a bottle of New Haarlem and PM'ed the seller more promptly than probably anyone else. Even if Bond brings back this currently disc'ed scent, they'd charge 4x the price of this seller's offering, I'm sure. Today I'm wearing a liberal spraydown of New Haarlem from the one bottle I own presently.

Well, no fragrance tomorrow, of course. I'm not uptight about my first-ever surgery or its outcome. It's just the "having an appointment" and having to interact with people that gets me cranked up. You hermits get what I mean.
I get by with a little help from my (((friends))).

Indeed we do! Best of wishes to you tomorrow. The surgery part is easy. It’s the waiting around before, and the recovery afterwards, that can be crazymaking.

I needed a little more sleep, after my morning toast and almond yogurt (with lovely raspberries), so I doused myself with slightly accidental enthusiasm (translation: spilled it), with my new sample of Idole de Lubin. I had a misguided idea, that Idole was something Amberesque, in the style of Akkad and Korrigan. It is not. It is, possibly, the most stunning classic leather-based “masculine” that I have ever smelled. Such fine construction, so elegant yet unpretentious and not fussy. I would swoon dead away, if i smelled this in passing on a man, and I know what my boyfriend is getting on his birthday. I’m not afraid to wear it myself, either. It also smells incredible with the traces of Shalimar still clinging to my skin.

Allergies are still keeping me in less than prime condition. I am either going to extend my nap, or drink some tea and try to do a little work around the house. It is tidy but could use a once-over. No reason to decide yet.

Today I'm sampling PG Spicematic. From the description, I was expecting woody and spicy incense. What I actually smell is the now discontinued Oiseau de Nuit with a dose of dry leather and cedar. Kind of a more unisex Oiseau de Nuit, and worth a try for those who found Oiseau de Nuit to be a bit too sweet. Happy Sunday, all!
