Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Happy birthday, Freewheelingvagabond!

I am in Passiflora for the second day in the row - I'm planning to wear it this week until Friday. It's a bit too cool for that already and I'm starting to crave something woodier, muskier, denser, more balsamic or vanillic, but let's say this will be my farewell to summer.

My farewell to summer scent is Eau de Rochas.
It's gone in minutes but such fun to re-apply.
One more day in the sun and then we're back to good
    old blighty.
Having avoided the dreaded mosquitoes thus far, they
decided to find me last night and had a good feast to make
    up for lost time.

Morning all, & Happy Birthday, freewheelin'!

Ugh, mosquitos. kewart, you have my sympathy. Hope your bites heal up fast, & have a safe journey home!

l'm saying an extended farewell to summer all this week by wearing a few of my summer favourites while l still can. The temps here are comfortably (for me) in the mid-twenties, not scorchingly hot like it was a few weeks ago, & l feel blessed to have this week off. l'll be heading out for groceries today, then probably relaxing on the sunlounger again later. Wearing Jasmin Full today.

Hello and best to everyone. Happy birthday, Freewheelin!

Kewart it’s been a bad mosquito season here, too. Dab some caladryl on those bites. Safe travels home.

Happy Birthday, freewheelingvagabond and Zealot Crusader I hope you both have fantastic days!

I'm following teardrop's lead and squeezing in a summer jasmine fragrance: Hermes Hermessence Cedre Sambac. It's smelling particularly indolic today in a way it doesn't in the heat of summer.

It's still summer and monsoon season here, then we'll have a month or so of warm-but-dryer weather, then fall comes around November.

A very happy birthday to Freewheeling Vagabond, may you roam free for all your days!

Two of the finest gentlemen of Basenotes share a birthday? What a coincidence! Freewheeeling and ZC, may you both enjoy many happy returns of the day and may you both stick around to amuse and enlighten us for years to come.

Those new Lancome bottles such as Roberto is displaying are certainly handsome. I hope the contents are equal to them.

I'm going scentless today while I tackle a major housecleaning chore, but tonight I'm launching a project of testing the entire line of La Parfumerie Moderne, since a Basenotes Superhero sent me a complete discovery set. I'm particularly excited about it because the nose for all of them is my current favorite living perfumeur, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato.

Between that and the fact that our temperatures are starting to creep downwards, there are sufficient reasons to continue living.

Happy Birthday freewheelingvagabond & Happy Birthday Zealot Crusader! You guys are awesome.

cook.bot - I think that Desarmant by LPM is one of the BEST florals I've ever smelled. I love it.

Lot's of flowers (and Hermes) being worn today. I am still smelling strongly of this scent that I applied before Cross Fit (OMG Cross Fit kicked my *ss!):

    Grev by Slumberhouse

I really love the way this one smells in the heat. It is DEF a summer oriental - in the same family as say...White by Comme des Garcons. Shimmery clove. Today's application emptied my decant - so now I'm finished. I will miss it.

Good to hear! Now I'm looking forward to it even more. I was thinking that Belles Rives was going to be the floral knockout of the bunch.

Posted on the wrong thread earlier...

I haven't been on the boards in a while. I've been busy enjoying the summer weather here and haven't been wearing fragrances too often. My allergies have been terrible this summer which has kept me from spritzing most days. Although, I did wear StrangeLove NYC's Dead of Night the other day which is a fantastic, realistic rose-oud.

My wife and I are officially announcing that we're expecting today. I'm definitely in the more nervous than excited camp...but I'm sure that'll come when the baby arrives. We don't know the gender yet...still have to wait a few more weeks!

Thanks Cook.bot! HBD to zealot and freewheeling!
