    Default Autumn In a Bottle

With the fall season upon us what fragrance (if any) are you most looking forward to wear this autumn? I'm sure most of you have several favorites. But if you could select just one? For me, it's Bogart Witness. To me, nothing smells more like a New England October. What is your "fall in the bottle" favorite?

As a native New Englander, October from Neil Morris Fragrances smells like fall in a bottle to me.

I don't choose what I wear according to season, but Chanel's Sycomore (especially the discontinued EDT) sure smells like autumn in a bottle to me.

Have you tried the EdP (I have)? I'd love to know your thoughts on it.

Providence Perfume Co.'s Heart of Darkness and Moss Gown are both great natural fall perfumes.

I agree with Mitsouko. Add Shalimar to that.

    TRNP (Teone Reinthal)'s Bulgakov.

I also like amber perfumes in the fall. Arabian Oud's Kalemat is one of my favorite amber orientals.

I have many, but two that come to mind are October by Neil Morris and Like This by ELDO.
    Loves:
Florals (especially rose, tuberose, cherry blossom, orange blossom, osmanthus, ylang ylang, immortelle, violet, jasmine, plum blossom, heliotrope, and iris)
Orientals (especially spicy, woody, and floral orientals)
    Boozy notes
    Chypres (especially with real oakmoss)
    Rich gourmands
    Animalic fragrances
    Great longevity and sillage

    Plus:

Serge Lutens - Feminite du Bois
Aqaba - The Sands of Aqaba
Fort & Manle - Fatih Sultan Mehmed

For what it is worth, Rynegne's fragrances often have a bit of an autumnal bent. Worth checking out, especially when comes back around with new releases eventually. There's a MadHat thread for that

Most of my fragrances lend themselves to autumn or winter. But if it has to be one for this thread, I‘ll leave the spicy/sweet/... camp for winter and just say:

Or Black, on a grey and rainy day, wearing my black leather jacket*, looking stern and feeling dead serious.

*) which smells amazing on its own, btw
    Searching for:
vintage Silver Mountain Water, Warner/Cosmair Polo Green, early l‘Air du Desert Marocain (rectangular or early blue bottle)
I‘m not fond of your overly huge signature^^

There are a lot that remind me of fall, but for this I am going with the original release of Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum. There is a depth to the myrrh that only comes out when the cool air hits your warm body. It really reminds me of Halloween.

Sycomore EDT is also a great choice. The EDP perhaps not quite as much.

Too many to think of, maybe Derrick by Orlane-smelling like burnt sandalwood combined with nutmeg and/or cinnamon spiciness, quite evocative of an earthy as much as poetic landscape of auburn/multicolored leaves in an autumn forest

The white smoke note always makes me think of the smell of leaves burning in the distance.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
