Default Anyone dealing with loss of reduction in sense of smell due to covid

    Hi All,

I had covid in March and now my sense of smell is still a bit impaired - it's really getting me down because I can't enjoy my fragrance hobby as much!

I can still sort of smell but my senses are very muted and I get olfactory fatigue like 30 mins after spraying and can't smell any more.

Anyone experience this too? Any tips?

i havent had it yet but my buddy got it and he said his sense of smell and taste were 100% gone. he was sending me videos of him eating raw onions and all this ridiculous stuff just to prove it didnt bother him ha. he said it is still lingering on (the loss of taste of sense and smell). from what i have read, it takes quite awhile to come back 100%

Seems like it might be a good time to paint the interior of your house.

No, but that sounds terrible and I hope you make a full recovery soon. Apparently it’s caused by inflammation in your olfactory crest, and you may be able to get therapy for it. https://www.sciencealert.com/scienti...people-s-smell
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.

Ouch!! That is some serious damage.

Sending positive wishes to all BNers and their friends and family that may have been affected.

Like someone said above, it can take a while for it getting back to normal. Almost everything about the disease is new. If you are still in doubt and it’s annoying you too much, meet an otolaryngologist.
I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

Know a few people who are currently going through the same thing. One of my friends said it's getting better as time goes.

Haven't experienced that but one option to boost your immune system is juicing, smoothie, and coffee enema.

Try 20mg of zinc a day for a few weeks.
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.

Do you mean loss or reduction?

l haven't experienced this myself, but l really feel for those who are going through this, & l hope their senses do return to normal eventually. The thought of any permanent loss is too awful to contemplate.

Reduction in olfactory sensitivity not because of COVID (knock on wood), but due to seasonal allergy.
