Good morning all !. Looks like we are into a second wave thanks partly to clueless leadership but mainly to the under 30s who refuse to toe the line and be sensible. Decided to go with something uplifting - Hugh Parsons Traditional. Hopefully it will start to work it's magic soon

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Afternoon all!

Jon, you're right, except that it's not just the under 30s. l've witnessed a lot of much older people flouting the rules & refusing to take any of it seriously as well.

Wearing Gardenia Supercritique today, from my sample. No gardenia here, but it's a nice enough woody floriental for a late summer day.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

It's been a sweater and a jacket weather the past two weeks here, but the forecast is showing it might reach low twenties next week, woohoo.
I'm sorry for your heat wave, teardrop, Jon and others, but I think I would prefer that over our proper September with +12 and rain! Take care, dears.

Guilty Absolute pour femme today - enjoying it a lot.

Agreed. They are undoubtedly the worst offenders but everyone is culpable to some degree.

Clockwork, we are having the same weather here in Québec, just broke down and turned the heat on, although will probably turn it back off next week when it goes back up to 22. I’m joining Capri Dog in Larmes du Désert.

(((Quarry))) I think of you every day and send you all positive thoughts and much love.

Today I mourn the passing of RBG. Words fail me.

Our weather has turned cool with soft breezes carrying down a few gentle leaves. Tomorrow I go to visit my mother and brother for the first time since late spring--it's nice enough now to sit outside under a tree and visit from 15 feet. I need to take a roll of toilet paper for behind a bush visits since no one may enter the house for any reason.

I'm wearing En Passant today to match the weather, if not the season. I have daylilies to lift and divide and expect a quiet day spent communing with my shovel.

Salutations, everyone, from an afternoon that looks a little like fall, finally.

I’m trying out a Luckyscent sample of something that isn’t in the directory. They enthusiastically described it on Luckyscent’s Back in Stock Page, and it sounded lovely—it’s named after a classic mariachi cantata, and a romantic Mexican folk tale set in the city of Guanajuato, one of my favorite places in the entire world, where afternoons on the city plaza are a riot of happy hour beer prices, Tequila cocktails, and competing mariachi musicians, up in the central mountains where the Spanish dug some of their first silver mines. Topographically, it looks like Umbria. I perhaps was sold on the sizzle more than the steak, but there is nothing in here I don’t like. On first impression, I’m not sure if it’s just pleasant, or better than that. It is, and I think this is a legit category, a 21st Century High Quality Niche More-or-Less Gourmand, kind of like something Parfumerie Generale would do, except that it is an Extrait formula, with a raw and less polished style, like Bogue’s Maai. It also reminds me, slightly, of that Bruno Fazzolari collaboration, from a few years ago. It has a sticky chocolate accord, with a hairspray rose, and Vetiver in the base. I love the way these accords come together in Rose Rebelle Respawn, because it feels furry and cozy and dry all at once—a marvelous textural experience. A few dabs from the sample seem to be just sitting on my skin, with no alteration as it warms up. I should probably retry this using an atomizer, to get a clearer idea of what it is trying to do.

This bottle is the thumbnail image on Fragrantica, and I like it better than the more generic square-off version I saw on Luckyscent.

    Cielito Lindo Fragrance Notes
Caramel, cinnamon, spicy rose, tonka bean, labdanum, tequila, vanilla, sandalwood, vetiver and spices. I’m not getting any tequila from it. Otherwise, it’s exactly as advertised.

Ah, Shycat, that sounds so incredibly peaceful. And, yes, R.I.P. RBG.

I'm wearing Coze today. It's a contender for first place in my heart.

Regarding the "Covid Careless", another demographic of obvious scofflaws are curmudgeonly older men. Around here, they tend to take up a lot of space when walking, talk loudly, and let their masks slip down their chin if wearing one at all.

Default SOTD: Saturday, 19th September, 2020

I wore Cadjmere today and plan to reapply for the evening. An evening on the patio of a local craft brewery is on tap. (Hehe) It will be gloriously cool this evening: long-sleeves-and-jacket weather.

My best friend and I were just gutted with the news of RBG yesterday. I’ve deleted every last one of my news apps. I just can’t take it.

I plan to buy some drop earrings fashioned in the shape and color of her dissent collar. She was a giant.
