Default Old Spice "Classic" Body Spray

Does anyone remember this short-lived line of body sprays from Old Spice? I think it ran from around 2005-2010 or so. I really liked the "Classic" scent though it has no relation to the original Old Spice fragrance. It was a smooth, mossy fougere similar to Aqua Velva Blue Ice, but not as sharp or musky. I have a bottle of this and am looking for something similar of anyone has any ideas.

I think that's the first time I see those body sprays. Interesting.

Having come across this one as body spray in this perfume style/note and from this age/vintage, in this concentration, presentation and product range-would much likelier compare this to classic rose scents rather comparable to Ungaro II, Lancetti Uomo, Egoiste, Habit Rouge, Furyo, Esencia Loewe.
Even more so than vintage/classic Old Spice, while comparable to all these if with a fresher twist on most.

I think the "Pure Sport" version smelled a lot stronger when it was in this style can. The newer style (taller, thin can) is good, but just doesn't have the same oomph. I have a strange side-addiction, collecting these Old Spice body sprays when they show up at Ollie's or other discount shops (especially the discontinued ones).
    Currently I have:
    Magnate
    Champion
    Amber w/ Black Currant
    Fresh
    and Pure Sport

I have not tried the "Classic" - sounds interesting especially if it's that different from the original OS.

(there seem to be endless versions out there.. many were not even officially released in the US)

It's frustrating when they revamp their entire line every two years or so. My favorites always seem to go away. Or I have to accept the repackaged updates versions.

I believe the Classic spray I am referencing was a US release (I purchased it a Walmart or Riteaid I think). It is more similar to the "high endurance" Original deodorant, which is totally different from simple "Classic," which is the closest they have to the original Old Spice from the Shulton days. Confusing, right?

If they had the actual, true 'Classic' in a body spray form, I'd be all about that! It's understandable they don't have this as I don't think it would sell well.

In the 80's, my Dad used the aftershave and the classic deodorant stick.....therefore, I did too once I got to my late teens. Not sure what Dad's are using these days, but Old Spice is still in my cabinet. I would definitely buy the classic spray...

I used to own the Swagger body spray, but I got rid of it. I don't remember why.

Seems worth tracking down. A worthwhile pursuit at quirky, out-of-the-way shops. Thanks for the tip!

Sometimes they rename these too and release them in different markets. Axe has done that plenty.

Have you poured the OS aftershave into an atomizer and used that as a body spray?

No need to do that. They sell an EdC version of the AS.

But what Bokaba seems to be saying is that the OLD SPICE CLASSIC body spray didn't smell like the usual OLD SPICE aftershave.
This confuses the sh*t out of me.

OLD SPICE made a body spray called "classic," but It doesn't smell like original OLD SPICE? So what do they mean by classic?

    Baffling...

Indeed. The "classic" body spray I am referencing is a sweetish musky fougere, not anything like what is "classic" body spray now. They use the term "classic" loosely across products. For instance, the "classic" high endurance deodorant is not the usual Old Spice smell, but some kind of sports fragrance.

To me, my Classic High Endurance antiperspirant/ deodorant smells very similar to the aftershave bottle.

I remember these but never tried them. As for the fragrance differences, I would wager they're aimed at mimicking the deodorant more than the cologne, like a "deo-spray" approach. OS deos always smelled more mentholated and weird than the cologne.

If you think that is baffling you should smell the current Brut shower gel, not remotely similar to the fragrance

I buy this quite often. Its not 100% Old Spice but you can tell Its in the Old Spice family. I quite enjoy it and It's potent for a body spray.
