The smell of my loved ones' skin.

The smell of walking outdoors in a park/nature reserve. While there are green fragrances, none capture that mixture of grass, trees, slightly damp earth, and a hint of dead vegetation.

Air after rain can have different smells depending on where you are. You can even feel the smell of asphalt if you are in the city.

I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

I absolutely love the opening of Eau de Campagne, I wish there was an eau de cologne version that did away with everything after that opening. It's a perfect 15 minutes, followed by something I don't enjoy nearly as much.

I would love it to last and project more! It’s a masterpiece to me. The opening is really outstanding, something in the same level as the opening of Chanel Pour Monsieur.

Wood, olive oil, moss, damp earth, unburnt (not smoked) tobacco, many floral notes incidentally many of whom used in fragrances, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals as well including but not limited to lavender, boozy hints (ideally mixed with woody notes), fresh laundry, various exotic spices, natural resins

Great list. Have you tried any fragrances which try to create these scents. If so, do any come close?

Coffee would be my pick, but all of these are answers I can very much relate to:

Got to agree with these. Jasmine in bloom, especially after sunset is just out of this world.

Yup, I agree with this too. Nothing beats the smell of a sea breeze in the beating hot sun.

    A pine forest.
The smell of a new baby's head.
    Freshly brewed coffee.
    A field of lavender.
    A bonfire.
    Leather gloves.

Folavril for tomato leaf, Yves Rocher Pur Desir de Lilas for lilac
Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum and Nuxe Prodigieux Le Parfum for beachy
Marc Jacobs for Men and Diptyque Philosykos for fig
Hermes Rocabar has a great balsam pine note
Bottega Veneta for a sueded leather
Rochas Man, New Haarlem and AMen Pure Coffee for coffee
Fumerie Turque, Chergui for pipe tobacco

They are excellent approximations, but nothing tops nature for the real deal.

Another one I would add to the list is freshly cracked black pepper. IMHO it hasn't been done perfectly in any scent, especially given how much ISO E Super is put into such scents. And I have smelled quite a lot...

Warm fir resin and needles. (Especially Douglas, I think, which smells of butterscotch.)
    A just-lit match.
Chocolate chip cookies in the oven.
    Steaks on a grill.
    Gasoline.
That damp, ozonic smell of new rain on hot asphalt/concrete.
Very ripe fig, just broken open.
Garlic cooking in hot butter and/or white wine.
    Freshly baked apple pie.
    Lumber.
    Warm leather.
    Pipe tobacco.
Warm, salty sea breeze on the beach.
    Honeysuckle/winter Daphne.
    Freshly roasted coffee.
Freshly opened can of tennis balls.
    Current Favorites:
Invasion Barbare, Costume National Homme, Millesime Imperial, Rehab, Naxos, Mefisto, Fahrenheit (EDT and Le Parfum), Azzaro PH, Rive Gauche PH, Ganymede, Clive Christian X, Ombre Leather

Great list. The smell of pipe tobacco brings me back to childhood. Makes me think of my Grandfather and the place in Denville, NJ where I would buy baseball cards (which was also a tobacco shop). anyhow, have you tried Hilde Solani Bell'Antonio? Soltice Scents Vanilla Pipe Tobacco? Those are the two I have thought were the most realistic.
