Default Favorite scents outside of fragrances

What are your favorite scents which have not been captured in fragrances?

For example, for me the smell of fresh baked bread is difficult to top. Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau is one fragrance that people point out but it doesn't really capture the experience. To me, Jeux de Peau smells more of pretzels (and not freshly baked).

What other scents/smells do you really enjoy outside of perfumery?

Sea breeze, lots of imitation and made-believe summer fragrance try to re-imagine the real thing but always failed miserably, i still have not come across any fragrances that smell like the authentic sea breeze by the beach, especially the salty, musky, and fishy type accord.

Come out to the desert in southwest America after a rain storm. It’s unreal the way the scent of creosote carries in the wind. Depending on your elevation you might get some sage and herbs in the mix as well.

I agree with the detergent. Smelling it from houses is amazing. I love walking my neighborhood for that very reason. Also I’ve noticed that different ethnic neighborhoods will have that laundry musk mixing with cooking spices and that’s another scent I wish was in a bottle.

If you've ever had a chimney or a burn pile at the back of your property, you'd know.

Funny, this is one of the smells I just can‘t stand. It‘s okay nowadays, but during my teenage years it literally made me gag.

Standing out in freshly mowed field of clover or timothy hay. Until I start sneezing, that is

It's interesting that clover hay isn't a note you see in perfumery. It definitely has a strong, pungent scent.
