Good morning all !. Hope the heatwave is a brief one. It couldn't be more different here with the temperature currently around 6 degrees and a brisk north wind. Seems almost impossible to believe we were sitting outside only a few days ago. Will be really interested to hear your thoughts on the elusive Djedi - something I always wanted to try but probably never will

Hope you enjoy Djedi, NCAL, but maybe not the extreme temperatures.

L'Homme de Coeur is beautiful, Jon, if I remember correctly. I love most of
Yann Vasnier's work at Divine, especially l'Infante.

I am wearing Yves Rocher's Monoi body oil topped with L'Erbolario Tiare. I am keeping
the summer vibes going as lon as possible! It's sunny but cooler here today.

Up super early (woke up 4am...) so might fit in three fragrances today. SOTM is Lys Mediterranee
    Loves:
Florals (especially rose, tuberose, cherry blossom, orange blossom, osmanthus, ylang ylang, immortelle, violet, jasmine, plum blossom, heliotrope, and iris)
Orientals (especially spicy, woody, and floral orientals)
    Boozy notes
    Chypres (especially with real oakmoss)
    Rich gourmands
    Animalic fragrances
    Great longevity and sillage

Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Saturday, 26th September, 2020

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Hello and best to everyone. My SOTD (not in the directory) is CJ Scents Lavender Incense, a gentle, soothing combo of the titular notes. The lavender is airy and clean, and the incense is frankincense but not overly literally churchy, just enough to be picked out as such. There is also a background note of something dryly powdery, like a stone wall in the sun. Beautiful work by Candice Edmunds Jurko.

    Take care, all.

Still in Sync this evening in:

    Vetiver Nocturne Absolu by Bortnikoff

I don't know if this is the perfumers favorite scent in his line, or his best selling, but he has released the original (Vetiver Nocturne), the one I am wearing, a Re-release and an Attar version of this scent. Perhaps one of the strangest vetiver accords you'll encounter. It's simultaneously rooty/iodine rich with strong ruh kuh notes, and then a whole bunch of jasmine & neroli absolute rushes in, with oud and two types of sandalwood - the total blend together creates a totally new accord. It took me a while to get used to it & to be honest I really have to be in the mood to wear this. It's not classy, grassy, easy-to-wear vetiver, that's for sure. I don't think if someone smelled me walking by that they'd think I was wearing vetiver. But I am fascinated by it. I don't think I'll ever look at vetiver the same way again, when I realize that a perfumer can bend the smell of vetiver to smell something like this.
I agree. I love the Bortnikoff take on Vetiver.

I’m wearing Mad et Len Petits Papiers, from a sample. I think I am, officially, obsessed, with this house. I don’t know how it has happened, especially, as I believe they are all natural, or something along those lines, a choice that I typically admire more than I love. These perfumes run with it, and they are not afraid of tar, and other terpenoids, yet they are beautiful, wearable, and interesting compositions, with no muddiness and good longevity. I wish I could find better information about them, like what is actually in production. They are one of those gnomic seeming French houses, that might be less mysterious than they appear, because their Internet presence is spotty, which may be more due to accident than device. Petits Papiers covers the same ground as Bois d’Armenie used to—French myrrh incense papers—with a little more austerity but still quite plush, in a different way, and should be great for cold weather.

Hello! Thanks again everyone for your get well wishes - feeling good again and it seems like it was nothing serious indeed. Yay! Your wishes, lots of tea and sleep and some Jagermeister yesterday evening definitely helped.

I got so busy yesterday, I never managed to sync or even apply fragrance until last night. But it was a terrific night in Bogue MAAI.

We’ve had a mini-heat wave the last couple of days and today, but it will be about 20 degrees cooler tomorrow. Back to autumn weather!

In the meantime, though, I’m thumbing my nose at the high temps and wearing a generous application of Bogue MEM.

    Glad you’re feeling better, CwA!

Inspired by ExtremeK, I will wear some Bogue:

    Cologne Reloaded by Bogue

A friend of mine are going to check out this rooftop restaurant that I've never been to before - looking at the Instagram it's very much a 'scene' so now I'm wondering what the hell I'm going to wear lol. In any event gonna have way too many cocktails and it will be nice to connect with my friend.

Hello everyone..... I didn't really feel like getting up this morning, and didn't really know what I wanted to wear. I was just told that a friend of the bf and I is dead. It was a shock and I don't really know what happend..She was 35 years old and I don't think it's Coronarelated. What I do know is that she had ME and she got increasingly depressed as the years went by. I'm sorry for writing such a miserable post... I'm glad to hear CWA is better .... I have a feeling there will be some wine o'clock soon. Sotd is L'heure bleue. It felt apropriate today
