Default Is DHI worth it even if you dont like it?

Is DHI worth it even if you dont like it? Here in my country there is still 1 pre-2020 bottle, I smelt it and it is ok but it doesn't drive me crazy or bring me any emotion on me at all, don't know what's all the hype about (other than the usage of iris note in men perfumery). Am I missing something?

If you don't like DHI then then you shouldn't consider it. There's more out there than just DHI, just have to find what works best for your nose.

Why would you buy it if you don't like it? It gets tons of love, I love it, but not everyone has to.

No, try Guerlain L’Instant De Guerlain Pour Homme EDP it’s similar but has it’s own unique take on the gourmand category.

Don't let YouTube fragbros or general hypebeast mentality make you feel like you're missing out on anything. A lot of them shape their likes around what gives them the most "clout", which is about as soulless as changing out your favorite band based on who gets the most play on Spotify.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. Be proud of that. People low-key respect solidarity more than they let on, I promise.

    I would say no.

But also the fact it is a pre 2020 DHI doent really matter as they havent messed with the DHI line yet to my understanding. So it is not a rare thing you need to grab while you can.

Some sound advice that I couldn’t agree more with - it’s ok not to like something and it’s ok not to buy it regardless of what some dude said.

It’s about being an individual and having as ZC said you should be proud of this.

Excellent question. The answer, for me, is no. But the collector mindset can be so intense, I get that it’s a question.

I have never seen a question like this here. Would you buy a bottle of wine you did not like because others do? Unless the fragrance or wine is a valuable collectors item why would you even think to do that?

No. If you don't like the thing you shouldn't buy it on the account it's a community and/or youtube hype. Maybe if you mean to sell it to someone who does love it later on

I like Dior Homme and Dior Homme Parfum better than Dior Homme Intense.

DHI is one of those fragrances that I like a lot on some days, but can be a bit annoying on others.
I usually rarely experience this phenomenon with other fragrances that I really appreciate.
DHI stands out in this regard.

It may also be that you get to know the scent better over time and then start enjoying it.

I would therefore suggest simply getting a small decant and wearing the fragrance a few times.
Then you can still decide if you want to buy a full bottle.

If you don’t like it you’ll have your money better spent in another thing/fragrance. Personally I like it a lot.
I don’t understand. It is so vast that surpasses all understanding.Understanding is always limited. But not understanding can have no boundaries.I feel like I'm much more complete when I don't understand. Not understanding, like I say,is a gift. Not understanding, but not as a simple-minded.The good thing is to be intelligent and not understand. It's a strange blessing, like having craziness without being crazy. It is a meek disinterest,it is a stupid sweetness.

It doesn't get me too excited either. So I just over-spray Diptyque Volutes EDP instead, which does resonate more with me (vaguely similar to DHI, worse performance or more olfactory fatigue). But with these kinds of fragrances (that all have something like an iris note, warm and rather soft) like DHI, Volutes EDP, L'eau d'hiver, I would suggest trying it out in really cold weather outdoors, and putting it on clothes. It's quite an interesting effect.

I suspect a big reason DHI has gotten a lot of talk is because people around you will be able to smell it rather easily (without being offended). And yeah it's unique as far as marketed towards men (or just in general), to me it's not at all masculine but in the "nice smell" category like the other 2 I mentioned (as would a pure honey scent be). Actually I associate DHI way more with the feminine than Volutes or L'eau d'hiver, due the rather thick powdery thing it got going.

Other vaguely similar scents IMO are Eau des Baux, and Chergui. If I were to get a bottle of DHI (I probably won't) it would probably stand next to Chergui and not get used very much.

My philosophy is try to buy as few things as possible, because I don't enjoy having fragrance sit around for years barely getting used. And with sampling a few 10's of fragrances every year (and revisiting last years samples) I'll at least in a given year find one or two that I could buy and would enjoy wearing a lot.

Depending very much on what one actually likes rather than just owning it for the fad/possible resale investment etc.
If DHI does happen to be a personally enjoyed choices would so go for it, if not, there is no major pressure, rush or urgency to do so.

Well im gonna go against the grain and say its def worth getting your nose on again.
I thought it was a teeny bopper frag for the longest time. Perhaps something to do with my 17 yr old nephew wearing it. And bcs of that i cast it aside. It took a while to get rid of that pre conceived notion, and accept that my nephew just has good taste!

I enjoy these although they aren't my favorites. I have DHI and DH and DH Sport in various incarnations. I think they are very well done. I end up reaching for other fragrances quite often, but I enjoy them when I do wear them. Mostly to me they are bedtime scents.

To answer your question, if you don't like them, definitely don't buy them.
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.
