for all you perfumers out there, once you have a composition built up, do you mix the whole thing yourself or do you order a given mass of the composition from somewhere like say perfumersworld?

Are you asking about using a compounder? Only people that would need one are those with high sales. If you sell low quantities, this wouldn't make financial sense.

In other words, one person could not physically make the concentrate for Dior Sauvage alone, this would be a large-scale production. An indie you would do yourself.

You have it compounded for you when you’re selling gallons upon gallons of it.

I get some of my commissioned Perfumes compounded for clients in New Jersey, and some of the bases sold at PSH are partially or completely compounded there as well.
Most perfumes that I make, the compounder does not have all of my crazy ingredients, so they make what they have materials for, and then I finish them.

For all PK Perfumes, I compound them completely myself.

If you don’t mind me asking, your work with zoologist, did you just give a formula and they compounded it? Btw I got a sample only because you made it, it’s manly as hell haha

I have made all of the concentrate for Rhinoceros #1. The formula was purchased separately from the formulation fees, sent to Europe for compounding, and Victor said that they couldn't get even 80% close to my compound, so he dumped Rhino 1 to get Rhino 2 made that is IFRA and EU compliant. Rhino 1 is not compliant, and was never meant to be so. Plus a number of increasing restrictions have come down since Rhino 1 was compounded. Rhino 1 is an extremely complex fragrance, and expensive to make, with 22 naturals in the formula, plus all of the single molecules.
