Hugs and feel better wishes to everyone - especially Quarry, Cook.bot and Kewart.
Trilby, thank you for sharing the news. These fires sound awful. Evacuating sounds scary. Hopefully your son's home stays safe and fires are stopped.
To everyone who had a shitty day yesterday, I hope today and tomorrow is better.

Lots of Guerlain today - I'm joining in with Mon Guerlain, too.

Good morning all !. Trilby, that sounds like a very frightening scenario. I really hope things can be brought under control as soon as possible.

    Morning all!

l have the day off, & l'm feeling much calmer after a good night's sleep. l'm going to settle down to a bit of studying shortly, & probably pop out for groceries later.

l'm revisiting the eighties in Body Shop Chypre perfume oil, from my little decant. lt's perfect on a slightly chilly, damp autumn day like today.

Hugs and good vibes a plenty today to offset the
trials and tribulations this week has brought.

My stiches are infected now as I found out after a virtual call
to my GP and a photo sent to her app. I queued for
10 minutes to go into the chemist to get a prescription for
antibiotics (they were only letting one person in at a time) but
when I got inside it wasn't there so I had to pop next door to the surgery to
pick it up from there. I got back to the Pharmacy and queued outside for another 10 mins to
hand it in and they said it would be a 20 minute wait outside again before it was ready.
Fair enough but what will happen if it's raining or snowing in the middle of winter and
elderly folk are having to wait outside like that for ages? Surely there has to be a
better way. 40 minutes just to pick up a prescription!! Strange times indeed.

I am wearing Lady Vengeance by JHAG.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I'm wearing Unknown Pleasures. It's chilly today so I'm going to get cozy in my sewing room with a cuppa tea and make some more masks. I finished nine yesterday. I went into my quilting stash and found some fabrics in lovely autumn colors. Sewing is therapeutic.

Wore some Chanel No. 19 parfum to go out to lunch today, my first restaurant meal since... March? April? It was lovely, oysters and shrimp, but exhausted me so much that now I'm going to have a nap.

Jeez, kewart, if it ain't one thing, it's another, right? Hardly seems fair.

kewart, I'm so sorry! Hope life turns sunny for you soon!

Trilby, hope the smoke isn't too bad where you are, and thanks for making masks! The handcrafted cloth ones are so much nicer than the blue paper ones, I think. Shycat made mine that I wear in the evening, it has sparkles.

The sewer main and laterals are being replaced on my little street so there is a lot of heavy equipment to get around, plus the noise and the dirt over the next week. But I'd rather the city fix them proactively than let them deteriorate and break. It's cold today and I am wearing Musc Ravageur.
If you can't smell me from six feet away, I'm not wearing enough.

I'm wearing Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles today. It doesn't smell as "piney" as I remember it from the old bottles.

Trilby, gosh, I feel for you, now knowing what I do about high winds suddenly bringing loved ones in imminent fire danger. This is brought on by the Santa Ana winds, yes? I hope your son (and his home) are safe.

foxbins, I've had to wear those blue surgical masks since I've been back at work. They sure do a number on your sinuses. They make the cloth ones feel like a relative treat, lol, and give me further appreciation for those who have had to wear them for hours on end long before the rest of us did.

Anyway, as an old member once quoted David Gilmour on here, shine on, you crazy diamonds ❤❤❤❤❤ Be kind to yourselves.
