Yesterday's Nick Cave concert on the radio was great. We listened to it with a couple of friends and some mulled wine. It was a great evening.
Ineespenes, did you enjoy the concert in the theatre?

Synching with Bulgari Black today. If I ever see it in the online discounters again, I need more backups of this. I feel just one might not be enough.

Avoiding watching the news here, but regularly checking the vote count on the BBC World News web page. lt's hard for us Brits to understand what on earth is taking them so long...

lt's another bright & beautiful day here. l need to pop out for groceries later, & try to do a bit more studying.

Synching in Club Design by The Zoo today.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. No sync for me today; industrials just aren't my cuppa. Jon, I'll have to dig around in the bottles and see what I've got for the mini-sync later. I'm not usually much of a day-drinker, but after this week I may make an exception.

Sampling another Parfum d'Empire today -- Acqua de Scandola, and encountering my first real disappointment from Marc-Antoine Corticchiato. It's supposed to be a salty aquatic, but on me the effect is harsh and dusty, not at all pleasing or even interesting as a composition.

i don't think I have an industrial scent, in terms of notes. What I want today is something peachy, for Georgia! But no peach on hand either. Going for comfort in Frapin 1270, it's pretty pretty. And i guess at least a sideways synch, a company and industry that has persisted since the dark ages.

I had the same experience, Cook.bot. It's one of the only PdE fragrance I don't like at all. Aziyade, on the other hand, I love. Have you tried Salute yet? I think that one is fascinating. It's like taking a mineralic cab franc at the fermenting stage and turning it into a fragrance. It's unique among the PdEs, I think, and I quite like it.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to wear today, if anything. I think I'm coming down with something I hope is just an autumn cold.

Aziyade was so carnal that I think it made me blush. Salute is next on my sample list, if I can find one. It sounds intriguing. I also have a sample set of all the Corticchiatos from Parfumerie Moderne to work through. He's so brilliant.

Aziyade is another interesting one to me. How does it compare to Arabie? I have considered a blind buy before but also want to avoid any redundancy. I’m trying to keep to around ~225 fragrances with the option to go up to ~250 or so over the years but not much more than that.

Aziyade goes places Arabie never dreamed of. The stewed fruit of Arabie does not play the starring role in Aziyade, which instead focuses on spices (esp cumin) and brazenly animalic notes, courtesy of the musk and cistus. Aziyade would be the love-child of Arabie and Salome.

My husband has Arabie, and I have Salome, but there's no way I'd be without Aziyade.

Thanks, teardrop! My head is starting to pound, so I think I'm going back to bed and foregoing fragrance for now.

It's average; as long as I have moisturizer on it will last most of a workday on me. Medium throw, medium longevity. And also sort of medium in the way it's put together, but that ends up working, it's lovely.

You want 225 fragrances, I want a solid dozen, LOL. The Frapin is great as an all purpose scent, good for work or going out, not too classy, not too sexy, it's balanced and I'd say smells modern, despite the 1270 in the name. It's exactly the sort of perfume the husband looooves on me, so that is good too.
