Default Ralph Lauren Polo , similar, influenced, or variants fragrances

    Hello

Are there any modern perfumes that are inspired by or similar to Polo (Green Classic) or Polo Moder Reserve?

I had Polo Modern Reserve and for me it was magnificent. The lemony opening and the drying of a brilliant vetiver.

not necessarily something so complex but a fragrances that have a certain vibe or reminiscences.

    Thanks
Winter Signature: Chanel Anteus, Gucci Guilty Absolute,Fahrenheit Parfum, Dior Homme Parfum, Declaration Essence, Dunhill Icon, Spicebomb Extreme, Mancera Red Tobacco,

It’s excellent stuff even in its current form, vintage is said to be more animalic.

What - cheap smelling Grandad like fragrances?

Esencia is a much nicer variation (especially old versions)

Opinions vary... vintage polo is brilliant. Loewe is nice in its own respect, but the strongest similarity is the color scheme of the bottles.

You'll never hear that from me. They're both LOUD in their early formulations. Otherwise they're very unlike one another IMHO

Seconded, while not identical to Polo nor its flanker (s) including Modern Reserves, this fragrance seems to follow a comparable style while still remaining quite well rounded/crafted and individual in its own right

I'm not going to argue with anybody, but I don't get this reference to ANTAEUS at all....I'd pay to see the look on the face on someone sampling ANTAEUS and expecting something like POLO.

Now discontinued TOM FORD ITALIAN CYPRESS always reminded me of a cleaned up, modernized POLO.

FLORIS 1962 has a slight resemblance but not as bold.

Some think ROGUE MOUSSE ILLUMINEE channels a bit of POLO. I think it's way more mossy...WAY MORE.

Lastly, ORMANDE JAYNE MAN is kind of a modern take on a conifer scent and a favorite of mine.

Only ITALIAN CYPRESS reminds me a lot of POLO.
Between Covid and retirement I don't get out much. But when I do, I smell real good.

I don't know modern scent that smells like Polo.

However, John Varvatos Vintage is inspired by Halston Z-14, Polo, and Drakkar Noir, with emphasis on Z-14. So JV Vintage won't smell like a Polo replacement, but if you want something mature in the general vicinity of it, I'd sample that one.

The only similarity Antaeus and Polo have to my nose is that they both are classics that smell great.

As for other options like Polo, it really is one of a kind — just keep wearing the vintage original.

That said, if you really want *passingly* similarly more modern perfumes (though not really similar smelling), then many of the names mentioned previously by others may at least be worth a sniff — like Floris 1962, and perhaps Norne by Slumberhouse. Both of these smell quite good and are recommended regardless, but they are nowhere close to being substitutes.

IMO, Polo Green stands alone. Only thing close is Polo Crest as the DNA is the same. Modern Reserve is an updated version of Polo Crest with the leather presented softer as “suede”.

Other frags that share a similar style and vibe to Polo:

    Esencia Loewe pour homme
    Chevignon pour homme
    Halston Z-14 (Vintage)
    Tom Ford Italian Cypress

I agree with you. They're similar after the openings. They have a similar kind of patchouli spine, I think. Also, Santos.

I think people who like Polo might like Givenchy Gentleman even more.

To me, "smelling like Polo" means being exquisite, with richness, and a timeless feel.

    Bel Ami is another one.

I’m glad at least one person sees where I’m coming from. I’m not saying they smell the same just that they fill a similar spot in terms of feeling. I guess it’s a bit like Green Irish Tweed and Aventus are different fragrances but satisfy me in a similar ways. Or if we’re going summer fresh then ADP Colonia and Creed Mlilisime Imperial cover the same ground. For me it’s all about my mood and how I’m feeling or how i want to feel. They may not smell exactly the same but they invoke similar feelings, ymmv.
