Morning all, & Happy Birthday lsoE!

l enjoyed Bronze Goddess so much last night that l'm wearing it again today, for a 9-5 shift. Hoping it'll help to counteract the grim, gloomy skies we have here.

Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Saturday, 21st November, 2020

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Looking outside at the same grim and gloomy scenario as teardrop. At least it's dry so we'll be getting out and about somewhere off the beaten track.

    Happy birthday, IsoESuperman!

I have a lazy morning in bed with a cup of coffee, a cat purring on my lap and I'm Home by Lush.

When I finally get up and shower, I might change into Pamplelune, or maybe L'heure bleue, or maybe Rose Magnetic, or maybe... I'll see what my nose craves by then!

Today I'm wearing Copper Skies by Kerosene.

I'm looking out the window from my second story bedroom, watching little winter birds flitting from branch to branch. I live in an urban/suburban area but our house is in a park-like setting with massive tall trees. The wildlife here provides endless entertainment.

I had a lovely day yesterday at Ala Moana mall. There is Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale, Nordstrom, and Macy's, plus L'Occitane, Kiehl's, Diptique, Chanel, Prada, Hermes.... NM was a disappointment, their perfume selection was quite small. I did smell TF Bitter Peach and liked it, but stock had not come in so all they had was a tester. I'll probably wait to see if it comes out in a travel spray, like I did with Lost Cherry. I also wanted to try Armani Prive Pivoine Suzhou, but they didn't carry the Prives. The SA, very young and sweet, encouraged me to try their newest, "My Way." It's pink and very cheap, with a range of sizes (I liked that) 10ml for $29 and up from there. The SA rattled off the notes, "Tunisian jasmine, vanilla from Madagascar" and then added, "All sustainably sourced" to which my cynical inner voice responded, "Yes, from big vats at IFF or Givaudan." If you took the patch out of La Vie est Belle and subbed Iso-E Super, you'd come pretty close to "My Way." I told her that it smelled to me very similar to a lot of scents that had come out over the past ten years or so, and she kind of gave a little nod, but her job is to flog this stuff so she did. I asked her if she would like to try something interesting, having spotted a Hermes display nearby, and recommended Rhubarb Ecarlate. As I left the store, she was waving a scent strip under the nose of another SA and saying, "You've got to smell this!"

At Bloomingdale's I bought some Kiehl's Musk, I've wanted some for a while, and sampled Narcisco (the white cube one) and Narcisco Pure Musc. I greatly preferred the original. I also sprayed Creed Royal Oud, had to wipe it off on my pants during the opening, but it dried down much better. Sweeter than I had expected. I also tried VC&A Moonlight Patchouli. It was quite nice but I'll have to try it again before committing to a bottle. I didn't see anything I wanted to try at Nordstrom or Macy's. Hawaii does not really seem to be a great place for perfume shopping. The stores are geared to stocking popular scents and not the unusual, and almost no niche, although they are available by special order.

No scent today, I'm going to the beach again. Without thousands of tourists making the water cloudy with their sunscreen, I'm enjoying the clarity and the room to spread out.
If you can't smell me from six feet away, I'm not wearing enough.

Thanks all! The weather gods gave me an unusually warm and sunny November day.

foxbins, Ala Moana is quite something, I stayed there a few nights on a work trip and enjoyed perusing in my free time. The Diptyque SAs were super nice and loaded me with samples of Tempo before it came out just for chatting fragrance.
